Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack Available Exclusively For Pre-Order

Why EA? WHY?! Screwing up a potentially amazing game to make a little more money? I can understand cosmetic DLC, maybe even map packs. But weapons? C'mon.

    Your thoughts?

    UPDATE:
    WoooHoooo!

I'd prefer them release a weapon than a map pack as a DLC. Just pre-order the dang game if you're upset about it.

Maybe its like the crap they did with Bad Company 2, like you unlock the stuff early?

You know how this is going to affect game balance?

    It won't.

The M1 Garand was an exclusive to BFBC2 Veteran players, otherwise there's no way to get it in-game...and it doesn't change anything. It's a decent rifle, but people who don't have it really aren't missing anything. I guarantee you this isn't going to be anything game-changing either. It'll probably reduce firing noise at the cost of damage or something like that.

Not to mention suppressors really don't mean anything in Battlefield games anyway. You can still hear them a mile away, and they don't prevent you from showing up on radar like in Call of Duty.

M1 Garand was my prefered gun until i discovered the awesomeness that is the M14 with scope. :D
You think they will have a Veteran system BF3?

So, this is a perk that will remove your ability to equip magnum bullets?

    Yeah, I don't care.

They're exploiting people who play Sniper in BF games. I actually love this.

Pre-order bonus isn't the same as DLC. Almost every new release now days is coming with bonus pre-order content.

It's also only the PO packs for two UK retailers. There'll certainly be more for the various retailers in the US. I would expect at least 3 more packs for Amazon, D2D, Steam, GameStop/Impulse, Best Buy, Wal Mart, and EA/Origin.

Smart thing to do! If you want a gun with better power, choose a different gun (with some sort of payoff of course)! Stupid to simply add a perk to compensate for weaknesses that have been built into the gun for balance.

Maybe we will get a fairly balanced weapons range... something we haven't seen since....?

Im pretty sure this is not going to be any kind of exclusive weapon, just an exclusive weapon skin/sound like they did with BF2412 I think it was.

I had one of the bonus codes to unlock a weapon and it was 100% identical to an existing weapon just new skin/sound (and sadly I preferred the original because the skin on the dlc was so big it covered up a lot of the screen)

They would not take a competitive game like this and add something that can be unbalanced and upset there fanbase.

Sucks that there are so many money leeching stratagies these days for games though, I remember when updates and DLC was free and common practice.

Now they taunt you with DLC that they already have prepared before the game is released that could have easily been included as part of the game, hats, avatars, you name it they are finding a way to make you pay for it.

I'm pretty sure it is a functionally different weapon/attachment, but not anything that will provide an advantage.

EA will use every chance they have to make people fork out money. BF3 is highly anticipated. They got gamers by the... Benjamins!

If I have any concerns it would be more related to their DLCs not seperating the community. Their booster packs for BF2 sort of split up everyone.. that was sad. I hope they can find a better way to keep us all in the same game.

Its probably going to be a garbage filler weapon that sounds cool in theory, but isnt really effective.....kind of like 90% of the weapons in Black Ops lol.
