I was kinda getting stuck in a rut with BFBC2, and haven't played vietnam in awhile since I didn't really like the rush and conquest vietnam, but after along time not playing vietnam, I finally clicked the tab and searched for a squad deathmatch game. WOW! this is great and refreshing! same awesome gameplay, but in squad death match with less players (16 max) and the huge jungle environments you can actually play like special forces seal team because the camouflage works so well, and it's better to stick close to your squad for situational awareness. The unfortuante thing is it doesn't seem like many ppl are playing since the servers don't have as many players as BFBC2 at the moment. I hope this post will change that. See you all on the Vietnam Battle field, Squad Deathmatch FTW!

Vietnam got old for me quick too, it was great fun at first but then I was like. This feels like COD with crappy, no recoil weapons and terrible map design. Oh well, EA got my $15.

i suggest you try and play squad deathmatch, I know rush and conquest got real stale fast, i never tried squad deathmatch until tonight and I'm still playing it and luving it. it's not so much run and gun but you need to really stick close to your squad and watch each others back in this one, all the while trying to find the enemy and when a fire fight starts all hell breaks loose!

I actually been playing Vietnam more that BC2. I love the rush maps with the exception on 1. I rarely play squad deathmatch though, but hit me up if you want to play sometimes.

I like playing Hill137 with lot of kills and bloodshed..
Although the map is small, its fun to unlock other stuff.

I love BC2 Vietnam. More than three weapons per class would have been nice, but the variety is fine. An alternative to the RPG-7 would be welcome too (M72 LAW perhaps).

My main complaint about Vietnam is how useless the helicopter is. In addition to being destroyed in one hit from the RPG-7, it's now vulnerable to literally every weapon in the game. It's basically a flying deathtrap, even more so than in vanilla BC2.

The helicopter isn't that useless. It does take damage easily, but a good pilot will RTB for repairs quite often on a run. When I'm a gunner, I'll usually call out to my pilot what % health is approx. left on the chopper and when we need repairs. I guess voice comms helps. It's not easy to hit a chopper with an RPG in vietnam; I'm more concerned about tanks, PBR's and snipers!

Me too! I think I've played maybe 1hr of vanilla since Vietnam was released. I enjoy the gameplay a lot more and it performs WAY better on my laptop.

I love Vietnam. Of totally breathed some life into BC2 when it got a little boring.
I think the maps are awesome, as well as the music and weapon choices.
I personally have no problems with Rush or Conquest. Haven't played deathmatch yet.

It's useless. So many people can shoot it down with a tank shell 100% of the time even when it's moving through the air at full speed. I'm not all for realism but, shot down with a tank shell???? Every time?

EA will never learn though. With Battlefield 2 until they released the map packs for free it was hard to find good servers. Expansions just don't work quite as well with these kinds of games unless they're free.

Speaking of which it kind of concerns me that BF3 states an expansion from the get-go with four BF2 maps. Although this time it may sell well because of the popularity of BF2.

I dunno. The few maps I played we were getting owned by choppers I had to quit. The pilots had like 50+ kills to less than 10 deaths. I took out the choppers a couple times with tanks and once with RPG. Damn near impossible with RPG though. But the other idiots on my team would just run from the choppers in the tanks. I'd just stop, aim, fire.
