so, I go to shut down my laptop the other night and when I woke up in the morning BSOD. so it did not shut down just BSOD. I figure it was the 181.00 drivers since that was the last driver that was installed that could of casused the issue. Anyone else having issues? or BSOD with teh 181. ?

First- right click "Computer" in the start menu, then go to properties. On the left side of the new window, click Advance Ssytem Settings.
Second- select settings under start up and recovery from the new, smaller window and disable "Auto Restart." Now when the BSOD happens, it will tell you what driver is causing it.
It should be something like "nv***.sys"

Try the nvidia official mobile driver. All Dox 18x.xx driver has been causing me problem (BSOD, Freeze, nvlddmkm.sys, etc) (but not 178.24).

So im not taking anymore chances, and go official instead.

I tried 181.00 from laptopvideo2go but it's been slower than any 179 or 180.__ driver(at least on my laptop) and I would go with the official 179.28 driver from nvidia, which does give me a little more FPS in games.

Secondly, the error could be from old driver files so make sure you do a thorough driver install and run Driver Sweeper+CCleaner under Safe Mode to get rid of any old traces before installing the new driver; it does take longer but I learned it's the correct way to do it.

thanks for all your replys. I had "do not restart on BSOD", it was just early in the morning when i noticed the machine did not shut down, so i just hard restarted it. Anyway, have not seen any BSOD as of yet, and I do use DriverSweeper to remove old letf over driver files. I think I might just go with the official NV drivers and see if there is a difference. :)

how important is it to use something like driver sweeper? ive always just installed new ones over the old ones without uninstalling the old ones manually. never had any problems, but thats not to say i wont.

so far only used official drivers.
