Dont forget this game simulates gravity. So for a sniper that means aiming higher at a distance.

Yeah most people dont get that, also Bad Company 2 game has a recoil/amperage/kick multiplier that is BEYOND any game i have seen in the last 8 years -- COD1 + UO are the exception.
Make sure you take that into consideration. It has been a growing trend to lower recoil in games, Modern warfare 2 is a prime example if extremes' in the low recoil department with weapons that have high damage and hit-boxes that are pixel-based -- 1" around the charachters extremity per pixel, in other words the higher res the larger the hitbox. Bad company 2 has completely broken that trend, even on the console, where they, DICE, REMOVED auto-assist aim.
Believe it or not this game is not n00b friendly, if you are having problems that make you rage now... -
I don't know why people find this game so difficult.

whats your bc2 tag? i want to play with you lol.
-
It's in my sig. As you can see in the scoreboard, I die quite a lot but I make sure the other team pays for it. ie. bomb their objective, slaughter 3+ guys every life, and heal my squad so they can continue giving them hell when I die.
-
When I mean nothing, I mean nothing, no hit detection what so ever. I know that there is gravity and I get head shots regularly, but sometimes it just will not register.
-
Don't be an arrogant pompous dweeb because you are having success at a game.
I'm not the one being hostile. You attacked me first, saying that I was full of crap because *YOU* were being successful, and I brought up an issue that has been backed by several other members here, not to mention elsewhere. There's tons of other evidence, but since you're king of BC2 you can't be bothered to believe that anything could ever be wrong with it.
I'm done here. Don't bother to respond, just move along and insult other members. I think this will be the first time I use the "ignore" feature at NBR. Congrats, you're the best at that too now. -
That's exactly it. And I am the first to admit when I suck, and can deal with that. It's not the end of my world. I don't really care. But when I know I should be getting a hit register and it doesn't happen, it gets very frustating, especially when it results in my death. I'm not saying my k/d would be 3/1 or anything, but definitely better than it is, not to mention shot accuracy.
I don't know what the magic formula is that results in some people to have worse issues than others, but I don't believe it's a placebo effect, either. Regardless what it is I hope that it is acknowledged and fixed by EA/DICE rather quickly. It took a couple years before issues with BF2 were straightened out and there's still issues, but I learned to live with them over time. -
Me either, game is very easy.
Not so much if you are blind and/or have your monitor turned off, like some users.
-
The game is not easy, we still have noobs who won't defuse no matter what.
-
You mean people that don't have as much free time as you do to play 60 hours in the first few weeks the game is out?
-
^^ i agree
I get them when i am fighting against a tank sometimes i shot a RPG at a tank and it didnt took any damage and it was a direct hit. Also sometimes i dont get any credit of mortaring a objective and destroying it =/
It only happens sometimes i think its lag but i could be wrong -
No, you're wrong. You're just a noob with no skill and should stop playing right now. LOL.
-
What I meant was people who don't want to disarm charges even though they are right beside the objective.
-
I'm sorry, and that's an honest apology. You're right. I was taking exception to naticus, and sorry you got caught in the crossfire.
I just hope to not meet you as an enemy online. I will for surely die.
-
It's ok apparently having terrible aim and bad hit registration causes a panic and ensues the level of hostility on the INTERNETZZZ.
-
Why don't you just leave it and stop being immature.
Ill be online though if anyone wants to play.

I had some really good games today, like 23 kills 5 deaths with my sniper.
Finally hit level 2 lol... takes a lot longer to lvl in this game than MW2.
The loading times suck too, so more time waiting than in game earning points, but its to be expected the stages are 20x larger and more people in game.
I probably un-did that great game because my last game I just finsihed before I get an hour of sleep for work was horrible. It was the artic map and I was defending and almost within 3 or 4 seconds of spawn no matter where I ran or hide a sniper killed me.
But this is the first time that I had just no idea where they were at all, I never spotted even one of the snipers and it was just a slaughter fest with me at the short end of the stick.
It was hardcore mode too so no radar and there was only that one spawn point. -
That's me too a lot. I do well a round or two, and then get slaughtered for the next several, completely moving me backwards.
Leveling up can take a little bit at first, but then you start getting merits for tons of stuff that moves you along rather quickly. I think you get like 10,000 points for 200 squad spawns on you or something silly like that.
I have yet to play much time as recon. I just can't see myself doing well as a sniper. But then again, maybe I'll just play recon with a shotgun. -
The sniping takes a while to get used to. I just hate the fact that everyone is trying to be the "hero" and snipe, which completely destroys the team play. I can be more effective as a lone sniper than have two other sniping. -
Easy way to get points with recon is to throw motion sensors near objectives and have your team/squad get some kills. 3000+ points a round is no problem.
-
Thanks for the tip, ill try it out, I regularly get about 1000 avg on recon so that will help.
-
Yeah, great tip, thanks. Will give it a go. I don't dare bring up the "hit detection" but that's another reason I'm leary to try sniping. It's one thing to miss with a spray of bullets ten feet from someone and have it completely miss, and another to be 100 feet or more away with a single bullet and miss all the time.
-
Been having a rough time playing recon, but this does help leveling up
-
I gave up on MW2 months ago after borrowing my friends copy and then i bought it 3 weeks ago to give it another try but still have the same problems with the hackers and stuff. It felt like i got ripped off and there is no way i can get my $60 bucks back because of STEAM so my copy of MW2 has been sitting on my desk collecting dust.
I glad i bought BC2 and its a awesome game. I am surprised that a battlefield game has a good single player it was unexpecting
. At least BC2's story makes sense instead of MW2's story, i like how BC2 makes fun of MW2 it was pretty funny. Anyways i been playing Multiplayer and its awesome, sure its not noob friendly but its gets better when you unlock the better weapons, gadgets, etc. Sure are some gripes about BC2 like the overpowered M60, the terrible auto balancing like in some matches it be 8 vs 16 , the bad server browser, etc. IF DICE fix those problems it would give a 10 but imma give it a 9.5/10
BC2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> MW2 -
I hate recons... most of them are just camping in the background of the map, being useless
-
Tru that ^^^
-
Haha when I play recon I rush with my squad/team.
-
I use the automatic silenced sniper as an assault rifle, ive started to do this often and its more effective than sitting back.
-
Same i use the tommy gun as recon its very effective taking down multiple guys at once
-
Thanks for all the tips. I may have to give recon a try next time I play. But Assault, Engineer, and Medic seems to fit best with every map. I just want mortar strike ability!

I got some really good games today as recon found one or two good areas almost 1000+ recon points. Without the motion mine points as we were in hardcore.
Several sniper rifle pins and even some combat efficiency pins. -
I hate this thread so much because I can't afford BFBC:2 right now. Yet I keep coming back here....reading...and dying a little inside.
*Glances at MW2 case*

It was on sale for $19.95 the other day, no tax or shipping fee
-
I'm no good with sniping, but I wanted to unlock all the rifles and get at least a bronze star with each so when I play recon I prefer hanging back since there's not much in the way of teamwork when I try to play up front. I toss out motion sensors for my teammates when we go after points, but none of the assaults care to drop ammo bins unless they're camping/tubing so I have to scrounge around for an assault kit to refill myself. By that time they're already moving towards the next point if we haven't died/failed.
About the only time I really feel like I contribute as a recon up front is when I save the point by using a mortar strike to destroy vehicles. When I hang back I use the mortar strikes to take down building walls or trees so I get a better view of the area. At least then I can spot the enemies for my team or just try to snipe them. -
=/ cant play recon well with such huge lag -.- need uni interwebs back.
well that was my rant, I like this way more than cod as you actually have to work as a team to win. plus sniping actually requires skill rather than quick scoping from 2 m away with a semi automatic sniper rifle... -
Well, it might hurt my reputation here to say this, but I wanted to get it for the 360. I know, I know.
But like MW2, I prefer to play online FPS games on the console. -
"But like MW2, I prefer to play online FPS games on the console."
You are WEIRD
-
Yeah. It irks me that with all the assault and medic classes running around, they rarely drop kits. I try to drop kits around a group of guys, or at strategic locations all the time. I even run up to snipers to leave them a kit since they're usually behind the action. Ammo is especially useful for them.
-
Hahaha. What can I say? I am just better with a controller when it comes to FPS. But my heart will always be for the PC.
-
Cut out the Gunner Chooper (A.K.A - the free points chooper) out of MW2, and gamer community get's finally a lot more ballanced multiplayer.
-
one thing that really pisses me off about bfbc2 is that you cant quit a game that's finished until you've loaded the next map -.- other than that i like the game

Yes I really agree with this one, it sucks and hope it can be changed. -

Everyone, which game is better in your opinion for single player mode? Meaning which one offers a more dynamic, emmersive experience in single player? I know everyone raves over multi-player but I am specifically talking about single... I hate it when you play a game and the enemies are always in the same spots doing the same things over and over and over. Thanks for your time and opinions! Stevenx
-
that accurately describes singleplayer games.
