I too pre-ordered the game, but I'm satisfied enough. Running all high, with 1x AA, 4x filter, Vsync and HBAO off at 1920x1080 getting 22-37 FPS.
Hers a screenshot of how it looks:

PS. My GTX 260M is running at stock Nvidia clocks and Core i7 on extreme turbo mode.

You will get smoother gameplay if you turn shadows down, it doesnt take anything away from the experience for me, now im getting locked in frames 55-60 fps. I can run in 1080 but i prefer 60fps to 40 so im sticking with 1600x900.
Hardware Vsync is good to turn on and not taxing. In Nvidia control panel I also turned on thread optimization and used hardware AA instead of software, runs perfect. -

Downloading the beta now off usenet. Should only take a few minutes
Lets see how this runs. -
I'm on 8800gts with T9300 at 2.5ghz and I have to play on medium, checked fps today and i'm between 15fps in worst conditions and 35fps in nothing going on. Usually it stays around 20-22fps, not that bad for "new" game.
I'm kind of getting into the gameoonce u play more of it it kinda sucks u in
One thing that I'm missing is huge bf2 maps where u had several flags u could go to, in this one u pretty much have to run to one point, and also no squad teamwork, but yeah, only beta so far.
I might actually retract my previous comment and keep this game, maybe -
just played it on friends xbox360, its AMAZING!
could be a bit more people on the maps, but everything is fine
tank explosions are just phenominal
cant wait to get a new laptop and try it on it
what kind of settings in PC would represent xbox graphics? medium, high combination (since PC should look a bit better)? -
medium low settings should be about right for a xbox, no way they are running high settings to get stable fps.
-
I'll have to dl it later and see if I can max it on my sig rig.
-
Anyone know if it has a .cfg file, the partcicle effects are what really kills the frame rate and they are way to high, its way to hard to see when using a heavy tank. The damage system needs some major tweaking as well, people don't get up and walk away after being shot twice with a grenade launcher...........
-
Something about the software AA is taxing with this beta, with hardware AA I notice no drop in performance. The game is awesome, needs a little polish but I think its going to be solid by release, they already have a patch up but I'm having trouble connecting to the update server right now. Anyone download the xbox demo for a graphical comparison? I'd have to say they are running on med/low setttings with no AA.
-
This game feels so weird compared to other fps like mw2
-
I think it plays like all the other BF games which I like. Weapons are more realistic in how they handle compared to MWF2 since you have to use short bursts like irl. You cant full auto guys from across the map and the sniper rifle shots follow a parabola like a real gun.
-
Ok did some messing around with nvidia control panel and the game runs much smoother now forcing aa from the control panel compared to using it in the game. Setting texture filtering to performance increased my fps by quite a bit. Before my fps never went up to 60 now its constantly at 40-50.
-
The medic class is kind of fun to play, but I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this game, it really now depends on how the final version will play out -
yeah, plus i see nearly no fps change on my 3650 when i keep everything except shadows on high/medium/low, each setting just gives me a 2-3 fps gain.
-
any1 know where i can still get a key without pre-ordering? (so i can test if my rig can even handle it)
-
It uses 90% of each core on my friends Core 2 Duo E6700, on my Core i5 661 it runs two threads at 60-70%.
15-20 fps with occasional lag on Intel GMA HD, 1024x768 Low. -
if you're playing via Intel GMA HD then I would say it's def CPU lol
-
Little more testing shows maybe it does peg the CPU a lot. Reached 60% util.
And no, GMA HD runs much faster on HW T&L than software just like regular GPUs, and unlike 3100/4500. -
260mGTX here, and it's wierd, it doesn't heat up at all, yet getting 20-30fps, which is disappointing. Seems like something isn't right, my max GPU temp playing this game is 68C, which is hardly above idle, and much lower than almost all other game that will hit upper 80'sC.
Any ideas why that is? Seems like a fun enough game, but lowering or raising settings aren't changing the FPS or temps much. This is with a T9300 at stock clock and also overclocked to 2.9ghz.
Curious, temps have me baffled, it's like it's not even using the GPU... Tiger Woods Online Golf (fun btw!) gets the 260mGTX into the 70's even. -
-
But, it's just wierd the GPU stays that cool, played 3 rounds, and it maxed at 66C, that's what it will idle at randomly. Thought something might be wrong, so ran 3DMark06, and for my usual score of 11K+ @84C, so all's well, just this game doesn't seem to use the GPU at all. Fun game though, and it's totally playable, just wierd. -

Just tried it out for the first time. Really laggy forgot to run fraps so not sure of my frame rate. But it looks like it runs 5760x1200 out of the box, the game looks Hor+ and the menu is not cropped or stretched.
So that means I will probably get this game. I was in this frozen north stage, lots of particle effects and things going on. I wish there was 1 player to get my bearings I dont feel like jumping right into multiplayer. -
As a side note, direct comparison, MW2 all high, AA2, 1366x768, just played for about 30 minutes, and ran 55-80fps and maxed at 86C. I know, totally different engines, but it's wierd that BC2 doesn't push my GPU harder than 66C. -
-
be77solo try using the latest dox drivers, your settings aren't that much higher and your fps is almost the same. My gpu gets up to 76c while playing so its defiantly using it.
