I have a Asus g51vs-rx05 with nvidia geforce gtx 260m graphic card with Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 2.0GHz. I ran codmw 2 perfectly until I tried Bad company 2 beta. It freeze and lag like crazy. I think because I don't have a quad core cpu. Please tell me what I can upgrade for my laptop to be able to play bad company 2 perfectly.
-
im not sure if you are going to be able to play "perfectly" but you might want to look into a CPU upgrade.
-
The P7350 is a pretty weak CPU even by Core 2 Duo standards. Most gaming machines don't come with anything less than 2.4 or 2.5GHz. A CPU upgrade or overclock will certainly do you some favors.
-
What cpu do you recommend?
-
T9600 is a good cpu
-
u need a quadcore to be able to play on 32 servers with a dual core u will always have low fps either u play on all low or all high on 32 serves
-
i have an E6700 and 7950 GTX... the game is only playable with everything on low and i snipe. As soon as an enemy comes on screen, i freeze.
On the other hand, bioshock 2 plays smoothly and thats pretty new. When the optimized game comes out the OP's rig should be OK.... just OK lol. As i'm hoping mine will be. AS OF NOW, you NEED quad cores for the beta, or a high dual core, because of compressed sound files that are messed up! It takes up too much CPU to decompress. This issue has already been fixed for the real game. So the CPU dependence should move down a bit for the real thing, but we'll see.... -
My ASUS G51J-A1 handles the game at an average of 22-37 FPS with all high, AA x2 (nvidia control panel), AF x16, V-sync and HSAO both off at 1920x1080 resolution. So if you want better performance your best option is to upgrade your CPU to the X9100 or the T9900 since the Best Buy version of the G51Vx won’t recognize a Quad Core CPU.
-
I'm sure you can count on the retail version to run better than the beta. I'll post my thoughts on the BC2 thread when I get the game.
-
It's also in beta... Make sure your on a server with a low ping for you. If you just let the game choose a server for you there's a good chance you'll get one with a bad ping. If you use the server browser you can find a nice low ping server.
That helps ALOT. Then also remember again it is a beta... There will be graphics and gameplay issues. -

read the system requirement
it need a core 2duo 2ghz as min requirement..
and a quad for recommand requirement..
i believe the core i5 's dual core 4 thread , should help even the cpu is not quad -
^That is definitely true, but the Core i5 is not a Socket P processor, and it's a completely different chipset too.
-
OP , best upgrade for u is T9600... also don't worry if u can't play the Beta... from what i heard it is very badly optimised... they final one should be better...

yeah, I play it ok on mine, and its the same machine, I just upgraded the CPU. I went with a T9300 because I had one sitting on a shelf not being used so it was free, and I can overclock it reliably to 2.9ghz and that does help.
If I was going to buy a CPU to upgrade to, I'd snag a T9900. Think last I saw, HP was actually selling them fairly cheap. -

just because the beta isn't well optimized doesn't mean the final product will be...
(unfortunately) -
Your machine should be perfectly fine. They'd kill their sales if it didn't run well on your rig. Never count a beta as how it'll perform for final code.

Downloaded the multiplayer demo for PS3 (See my specs in sig and you understand why xD ) and im really like the game even with that one map. xD
If i even get the cash to move to desktop preformance, il buy it for PC.
Bad company killer system requirement!!
