No you are not the only one with this problem. Many of us with nVidia GPUs have this problem. All we can do is wait for a DA:2 patch or an official non beta driver from nVidia.

Then maybe our problems can be solved. DA:2 runs worse than DA:O and ME:2 and it look ALOT worse than those games. ME had very detailed character models and DA:O had more expansive landscapes.

Hopefully this is just a driver or patch fix and not a problem with the optimization for this game.

From what I've been reading, it's a triple whammy. Sloppy code + driver issue + AMD optimization.

I was going to buy this game, but then I started reading reviews so I figured I'd try the demo. Well, I have ATI graphics and I haven't seen any issues. I have to say though, the studios are getting terribly sloppy these days. Like Bulletstorm for instance... horribly sloppy console port. Great game, but it needed more code optimization, and a fix for some PC problems like texture streaming.

Yeah you're right it is a shame.

Though thankfully modders are still at the top of their game. Just look at the "Complete Mods 2012,CS Complete, CoP Complete" ...He managed to make the game look better and more realistic than ANY game ever released and still run AMAZINGLY well.

Look up Stalker Complete mod to see what i am talking about. It is Optimization at it's finest. That guy is an aritist.

If game studios used the same techniques as the creator of the Stalker Complete mods, we would never have laggy games. Check it out for yourself.

By the way, this only affects the DX 11 Rendering by the looks. People who stick with Medium settings from the drop-down menu (which is high for DX 9) are running them fine and dandy.

Seems that the newly release 267.59 which comes with the only addition of 550 ti/GTS450 desktop cards has a few optimizations for DAII.

Check this thread: Driver 267.59 released for 550 Ti card - Guru3D.com Forums

You still need a modded inf but the reports and the numbers are quite definitive: this driver have a preliminar optimization for DAII and it works.

Hmmm, right now everyone with a GTX 460m are getting mixed results. But with Texture Pack, DX11 and High at 4xAA it runs pretty smooth.

What does that even mean, though? We need to speak in terms of average FPS.

People with desktop 580s aren't getting 30fps @ Very High.

QFT... That's all I've read. People with beastly desktop cards, sometimes in SLi, and still horrible performance. One thing in common with all the SLi setups are low resource usage. Like the game will be running like molasses, but the cards are barely breaking 30-40% usage.

Well i installed the new driver with a modded inf and it give me CRAZY artifacts and it crashes instantly on DA 2. Guess i just need to wait for an official nVidia driver.

At 1920x1200 High, 4xAA, high textures, and ambient occlusion(whatever its called) I get 22-40 FPS,mostly below thirty. I seriously doubt these mobile cards are pushing similar numbers.

At the same settings with DX9 I am getting some great fps 35-50. I am running the 197.xx drivers (imo the best still to date for my GPU) just uploaded a video to Youtube a few hours ago for anyone who wants to check it out.

Well i just re installed the drivers and the second my OC profile kicks in it Artifacts and crashes my computer instantly. I'll stick to 266.58 until they release a good mobile version for it.

Im actually running the 270 developer drivers, the 267.59s apparently are better but I don't have time to try them out today, from what I have seen they offer some improvement though.

Installing 267.59 puts me into a BSOD loop.

I'll just wait, for the next WHQL mobile driver, or hopefully I have a 6970M by then.

I am using the new 267.59 drivers with great fps boost compared to the 267.24 drivers with my gtx460.

Now i can play the game in full hd with very high but without AA/AF. Its not ofcourse 60 fps but its playable espesially then i OC my card. Maybe next drivers is even faster.

    Average frames per second?

Run FRAPS and let the benchmark run for a few minutes, while you play.
