I am looking find out which nVidia based videocard offers the most performance but has the least amount of battery consumption. I am concentrating on battery life for my new laptop, but I want to be able to do some light gaming on it at the same time.

I guess the question I should be asking is what videocard strikes a good balance between battery life and performance, while being DirectX 10 compatible and made by nVidia.

Well, you could also go for the ATI HD 2600, would perform like a DDR2 8600M GT, and is using 45nm technology so it consumes less than the GF8 wich are on the 80nm tech (right?)

For light gaming, go with a 8400GS/GT/8600GS

some laptops come with integrated graphics and dedicated nvidia graphics, and can switch between them, that would be your best bet for performance/battery, i forget what the model name is but im sure someone will mention it
