Thanks for the heads up, I'll be keeping an eye on this. I have been meaning to get back to BG2 ever since I lost my save file in the Underdark, this will just make it that much easier to restart this epic campaign!

A game that has always remained the greatest ever for me, Dragon Age Origins brought good memories and then number 2 destroyed it. BG has not been destroyed so for them to just enchance the already amazing game is a very clever idea from them so that we cannot complain unless they change bits which they said they would not do only add and enchance. Really looking forward to a possible third but this countdown does not say what it is for, could be a release, release date or hint. Cannot wait :)

Now they just need to remake Dungeon Keeper 2 and I will be in heaven :D

I'm thinking this will detail price and release. Hopefully this sells well and realization that there is a market out there for a true sequel will sink in and we can bask in that glory. :D

Even though I haven't finished BG2, it is by far one of the greatest roleplaying experiences I've ever had on a PC, or any game platform for that matter. The characters are amazing, the story well written and interesting, the world teaming with life and intrigue, and of course Jon is one of the most interesting villains I've ever encountered.

Don't forget the sword Lilarcor! Also good for a good laugh when he starts spouting nonsense in the middle of those serious moments. :D

They have the worst marketing. 10 virtual funbucks says that the big reveal will be something inane like another countdown. It's countdowns all the way down. :/

I thought this is already released for iPad? I've been a fan of party-based RPGs (they are so rare these days), cant wait.

Actually, it's a countdown to letting you pre-order the game now & with release dates for Mac & iPad.

Big letdown for me, I was hoping it was a countdown to buying & downloading the game.

No release date for BG2, then? That's very disappointing. That's the one I am looking forward to. I never finished the original BG1, but Shadows of Amn still remains one of my favorite games ever.

I think they said they were going to release it after bg1 not at the same time.

What exactly are we getting here?

Support for modern PCs and widescreens? We already have that via unofficial patches.

4 (*gasp*!) new characters and a lousy arena dungeon? We have much more than that via player's mods.

I thought they would be freshening up the graphics or adding some effects, but this is almost the exact same game. I never liked BG THAT much, and I sure won't be buying an almost identical version of it on the PC. The only new and noteworthy thing here is indeed the iPAD support, but that was to be expected.

    Color me quite disappointed.

Haha, so it was just another countdown?

Looking at the site, I'm not seeing why I should delete my GOG copy and grab this instead. I'm not really interested in the new content before I hear if it's actually good.

There could be new graphics and features and maybe even 3D support for newer graphics cards, if you look at the requirements they are much higher than the original as you are recommended to have a Geforce 3 or higher card and a 1ghz processor with 512mb RAM compared to the original 166 MHz CPU, 16 MB RAM, 2 MB video card RAM

They said they would only be enhancing Baldurs Gate hence the price being only £10 or $20 which is a bargain if you ask me and I will be paying it.

They confirm it is pre order for release on the 18th September so no more countdowns to a countdown from a countdown at least.

I'm hoping that they really revamp the UI, but beyond that there's not much they can do. I wouldn't expect new graphics as most of the art assets were lost:

As I said, it needs to bring something to the table to replace my perfectly fine GOG copy. New content is probably not it for me unless it's proven to be really good.

I just really want to play the game again so I was going to install my copy of Baldurs Gate 1+2 anyway and go for an epic stint, it makes it worthwhile to wait for a few extras and additional features. I have long since forgotten the whole story will be good to go back to the memories and the Ankheg armour :)

They will and they are. The Windows version is $20 (or $18 if you pre-order), but it'll likely come out to the same amount if you add the cost of the in-app purchase DLC on the iPad.

Hmm, I'll hold off judgement on this until it's out. I just replayed BG1 on my laptop using a package I picked up from GamersGate (with BG2, PS:T, and a few other titles) for under $10. Installed BG1TuTu and it played great. I need to get in there and re-play BG2 now too.

Also, I never finished PS:T - that is a situation that has to be remedied.
