A somewhat shady way that has worked for me is to befriend some of the guys who work in your schools IT department... but it really depends on the type of connection and if there are any loopholes.

In sweden there are many ways around it =) If you have a laptop. Go to your ISP and get wireless 3G modem. Here you can get unlimited bandwith for a monthly fee of around fixed price 30-40 USD per month. at 512kBit - 2Mbit/s using 3G network. Resonable price if u want to be able to enjoy online games anywhere any time.

If it's too expensive, set up your own wireless network using that connection and share the fee with some friends who what to use that bandwith as well.

Bet there's probably something similar over there.

Nope, theres nothing you can do. My friend also was dorming at his university, and pretty much, gaming = impossible. The ping would be around 2000~ at all times.

He still played though(hah), and moved out without hesistation the next year to a place with a T2 connection :p

Like it or not, college is for learning, not gaming.
They have more important things to do with their bandwidth during the day than letting you play games.
If you want to play games all day, move off campus. :)
