I've been pulling my hair out trying to find a decent barebones notebook with 8600M GT minimum, I also wanted to find out if 8600M GS is ok? I don't plan to be playing graphically intense games, Civ 4, Empire Earth III maximum, maybe Empire: Total War - I love strategy

So can anyone recommend a barebones notebook with 8600M GT or am I wasting my time and should just go with the 8600M GS one I found.

*UK only please - don't want to be shipping anything*
*The OCZ DIY 15" has been discontinued - I know this because I posted on the OCZ forum so please don't be recommending that even thought it is the most awesome barebones ive seen for under £500*

The 8600m GT is better than the 8600m GS by some good margin. I do not live in UK, so I cannot give any advice on models, but maybe you would want to consider the 8600m GT version of a more recent generation: the 9600m GT.

I think I trust Play.com, can anyone vouch for advance tech? Also... I believe the OCZ DIY has been discontinued or is this not true?

Yup it is. It was based on the Compal Jfl92 and that is not in pruduction anymore. It's successor is the jhl90 but I don't know if OCZ will pick that up.
