Lets discuss how bad/good the game was and what you'll want in a part 2.
For starters I would like these things to be added for a PT2:
    -Use of batmobile
    -use flying batcar thing(ivy level)
    -change costume or skins
    -more gadgets
-Robin as side kick and playable character
-better gameplay when against titans, make it less predictable
    -improved remote batarang
-make xray less overpowered, shouldnt beable to see so far
    -more combos
    -fight in gotham city
    -visual damage from attacks

It needs an option to switch to first person view :(

Overall a cool game, I just can't stand over the shoulder cams.

Great game, but I don't like how often detective mode is necessary. It's too temping to go through the whole game in that mode, and miss out on all the atmospheric graphics.

I saw the detective mode in Arkham Asylum as the sonar mode from the Dark Knight movie which is why we could see so far. Also bare in mind that it is still early days, some minor downloadable content has already been released and they have the potential to do much more.

I agree but I would prefer a third person view like Prince of Persia. Still if you disable the auto help camera feature option in the menu, it is much better.
But I have to say IT IS the best game I played since COD 4. Plus, I really enjoy fighting against the bosses. Every boss was different and challenging.
Maybe in an expansion or something you will be able to use batmobile or bat-wing or fight other bosses.
The detective mode was good but I agree with the above too. Maybe they could have made it available for a limited time in each room or rechargeable like the sonic batarang.

Iam just wanting to know if most people who have played this are using a controller or keyboard and mouse? I played the demo with keyboard and mouse and love the game, just wanting to know if it is worth getting a controller to play.

Maybe you haven't read the thread poll well but this is not about if it is better than COD 4 but if it is the best thing you played since the COD 4. So have you played any game that is released after COD and it is better than Batman? I bet you haven't :D

Xbox 360 controller here , I only use Kb/m for FPS & RTS genres. Very handy to have a controller, works native with most "Games for Windows" titles.

Well there is the Matrox TH2Go that can link your monitors together as one big monitor it will work.

Or you can use a ATI 5870 or 5850 card with eyefinity, thats what that video is showing.

Also you can try a program called Soft Triplehead, its like a software version of the Matrox

Those are the 3 ways to do it, each with there own benefits and disadvantages.

I actually decided to get a ATI 5870 card and 3x 24" monitors, the monitors get here today and the card in a couple of days so I should do my own little review of it soon.

I personally fee the ATI route is the best one for 3x wide surround gaming.

Not sure why we are comparing two different gendres of games, third person adventure and a fps title.
It boils down to personal taste, however i do understand the phycology that drives players to compare every game post cod4 to cod4, it is inevitable with such a huge hit.
To respond to the actual question, is Batman Arkham Asylum the best game since cod4 ? I would say that Batman Arkham Asylum is the best third person adventure game of the last ten years. I would have liked the puzzles slightly harder, but then todays gamers are so used to being spoon fed I suppose it had to be that way.
I haven't enjoyed an adventure game this much since Oot. Actually arkaham asylum borrows very successfully from quite a few classics, if you just have a look under the hood!

Yeah it belongs at DTR, though I guess I can do some game reviews using the setup here. I am DEAD, spent the whole day today finishing up my new desk and trying to put back together my room. Enough time for a 1 hour nap before work and I woke up with a really sore back.

I never had enough space to accommodate all this stuff, My desk now spans the length of one of my walls, and when the 3 dell boxes got here today and I opened up one and saw how big the monitor was I knew I was in trouble. When I got all 3 up it took over half of the desk. I let out a crazy laugh because I have no idea how to get my stuff in there now.

Sure enough a full day later I managed to piece most of it together. The computer tower had to go on the floor, not too happy about that but it weights like 100 lbs too so its probably for the better as long as it stays cool enough there.

Im waiting for my HDTV mount so I can mount it on the wall above the monitors as it has no place right now and nor does my Dreamcast, Wii, and my home built arcade.

I'll take a few pics of how it looks now when I get off work and try to get it done today. I need a hole saw to run cables right now everything is in place but none of it wired up. Electrical wont be too bad, nor will the computer connections, the worst will probably be redoing my stereo system as I had a very confusing audio setup with my 10 band EQ and its monitor loops.

    Desk is home made

Big sheet of MDF cut to spec from home depot for like $23
2 used floor model file cabinets from Office Depot for $35 & $45
3 rolls of vinyl contact paper $21
    3 metal L brackets $10
MDF wood screws $8 (have a lot left over)

So the desk itself only cost about $150 (lol only $150 that sounds crazy to me) and I guess thats good considering how large it is and how its custom fit.

    Tools I used

Hammer - To break apart the old desk
Drill - To screw in screws
Router + roundover bit to round off the edge of the desk
Stud Finder - To find my studs to mount the L brackets and to mount my HDTV when that mount comes in.

Cost besides the Desk parts for this upgrade:

    Stud Finder - $10
    HDTV Mount - $23
    Display Port Cable - $15
    Dell 2408WFP - $400
    2x Dell 2407WFP Refurbished - $530
    2x DVI Cable - $20
    ATI 5870 GPU - $390

So I spent way more than I had or planned enough to build a top end new computer for just a small gpu upgrade however I think it will be worth it. I just need to pay off my credit card as fast as possible to not pay big interest. I am working 7 days a week for the next 2 or 3 weeks so the OT is going directly to this project and the stuff I dont have room for anymore that I was holding onto I am now selling to make up cost.

    Also what about a batwoman?
Batman also needs some refreshment as he gets tired of fighting evil.
Atleast, developers can put some censored cinematics. :p

Erm... Oracle is your Batwoman in a wheel chair.

As for the CoD4 debate. The game was good, no doubt about it. But it doesn't deserve the title for best game. Hell, games before CoD4 kicked its .

It's a generic game that struck at the right time and managed to reel in a lot of people.

Batman is a great game too. Aside from the gliding glitch, problems with PhysX and the whole fricking Windows Live moniker. I don't "buy" games that explicitly use Windows Live. I'm not going to pay $50 for online, and I'm not going to pay for the game either.

I really don't see why it is being compared to CoD4 though

I got it all setup today for the most part, had the 3 monitors going with my dual 4850's then when the 5870 box came I put that in. Tried eyefinity and it worked but not without me uninstalling my 2nd 4850, seems the new drivers wont work with my old card.

This is a small problem as I have the 37" to wall mount behind the 24's and that gets done today and so I needed the 2nd card for the 4th monitor.

For computer stuff the 24's are great when your at the desk, but for movies the 37" is way better. I should have just gotten two more 37" TV's :D

It would have cost me about the same.
