    The second one isn't going to make a ton of sense without the first one.

    I really don't mind. Just as long as it as good graphics and I can run around freely then I'm all good :)

    How do you change the graphic's settings? I did initially when setting up the game (put everything on max) and the FPS drop too low and need to adjust. Cannot seem to find a menu for graphic settings beyond "brightness and invert controls".

    Nevermind figured it out:

    Find the BMlauncher.exe file in the Batman AA directory and launch the launcher and access the settings.

    Why this is not available at the start screen if not in game is beyond me but the developers are having much bigger problems with DX 11 and DRM...

    This game is brilliant, GFWL issues aside.

    I love watching the inmates run around, terrified, while I pick them off one by one.

    Anyone know if you can specify individual physx features via the .ini or the like? My GPU hates the particle effects, but volumetric smoke, and interactive paper aren't a problem in the built in benchmark. But, as there's only high and low settings, I can't seem to pick and choose.

    What's wrong with this game and physX?? If physx if off I get 70fps avarage, and if I set physx at medium I get 30 fps av. on high 24 fps.. That's insane... I was getting around 50 fps on Arkham Asylum with physx on high. :(

    Possibly Nvidia gimped on purpose. It would not be the first time.

    They did it with Mirrors Edge and they pulled a on purpose gimp on Assassins Creed even though it was not Phisx related.

    That way when they post pretty bar graphs comparing Nvidia w/ Phisx vs AMD people thing the Nvidia cards are way stronger when if on an even playing field they are not.

    Any modern quad core cpu can handle the phisix easy if it was implemented as so, but they purposly do this horrible inefficient coding to force use of Nvidia stuff.

    It could just be a bug as well I suppose, it is a new game. Time will tell.

    PhysX probably more intense. But Rocksteady didn't use the latest SDK which has improved multi-threading for PhysX so it's still junk for modern hardware.

    Theres a statement on the official forums about DX11 problems, that could be your issue

    Runs fine for me once I disable all the stuff.

    After playing for longer I notice how much the new moves and flexibility in combat really makes a difference.

    Find yourself surrounded by too many thugs, particularly armed ones, drop a smoke bomb and use sonar vision to take them out or escape, grab enemies from ledges, disarm them with your batclaw, dodge knife attacks (if timed correctly), take out two at once, catch thrown objects and return the favour and so much more.

    I love how the sonar vision sounds and looks like the one in the Dark Knight movie (where he used all of the mobile phones as sonar mapping devices). In Arkham Asylum you felt like Batman, in Arkham City, you are Batman...

    They did some Dx11 stuff but its underperforming when you enable it.
    Its not like BF3 where they made the game in Dx11 with Dx10 to fall back too.

    Just disable hardware PhysX. Just run PhysX on CPU. Rocksteady claims that PhysX effects are no different whether it's on CPU or GPU.

    Well my cards aren't directX 11 capable, so I guess the game runs on DX9 by default. So I think the PhysX issue is not related to the DX11 problem. This game need a patch... Installed the last PhysX but it didn't help

    OK: a website already took note of the PhysX issue, here you can check what I am talking about:

    The game is capped at 62 fps but for some reason the frame rate limit in my ini files were not always registering so I was getting uncapped frames every now and then and thought I was getting better performance because of this. I didn't know that all Unreal3 engine games had this cap.

    In the bmengine.ini file you will notice:

    bSmoothFrameRate=True
    MinSmoothedFrameRate=22
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62

    Uncapped my frame rate can go as high as 93 fps but I am fine with 60fps.

    Edit: Looks like a new patch has been released although it doesn't look like it is supposed to be avaliable officially yet.

    I finished the main story (extremely good) but I feel like there's soooo much more to do in this game. The setting is awesome and the combat is fun. The only thing I don't like is the bros with stun sticks. The stun sticks are really hard to see and in a group it's really hard to attack them properly. Perhaps I really should play with a controller.

    Beating the hell out of the dudes with body armor is hilarious, though.

    The retail version requires the DVD in the drive to work, and the the retail version can not be activated on Steam. Sucks. Big time. I cant even remember the last game I purchased that needed the CD / DVD in the drive.

    Has anyone tried the new patch with DX11? I managed to install it last night, but did not have time to test / play with it.

    As long as GFWL still rely on having a DVD inserted to launch a game it will never beat Steam or Origin.

    The new patch has decreased my DX9 / DX11 performance and has introduced stuttering that I never used to have. Good stuff! I will certainly think twice about buying crap like this next time, that's for sure.

    My laptop runs it on Max settings, AA enabled, 16x AF @720p on my HDTV FLAWLESSLY.

    Fluid gameplay and some of the best visuals I have ever seen.

    Been playing for 2 hours last night and LOVE the game, a worthy successor to the great Arkham Asylum.

    Love how they added characters and new costumes, only played as Batman and Catwoman so far but I see Robin and Nightwing too.

    That's because Arkham Asylum isn't as big a game. AC is more of a sandbox type of game, you can follow the main story or you can do a ton of side missions.

    Yup same here as Laptopnut and getawayfrommelucas. DX 11 performance is still bad and DX 9 is now suffering never dipped below 59 on vsync before, now it is constantly dropping to the 30's.

    With Physx on I use these settings and it runs fine.

    1080p res
    v sync = yes
    AA = FXAA (high)
    Dx11 = off
    Tessellation = off
    Detail = very high
    Everything = yes
    Physx = normal

    With the new patch not much difference in performance for me (fps wise). The game does load faster with the patch, that's about it.

    Beat the game on easy and it didn't unlock new game plus, so now I'm playing on hard. :)

    i read somewhere that they used a downgraded version of physx sdk? its really strange that in B:AC the physx is awesome even without dx11 enabled, but once dx11 is enabled. its a low cap :( i used the unofficial patch, somehow it helped by giving less starting load times, the dx11 bug...hmm a little improvement..
