Anyone else have a problem with GFWL crashing Batman AC? Every time I try to play it it crashes, hangs up and causes me to ctrl + alt + del to get out of the game. Then I see the posted error, close it and click on the icon to take me back to the game (which then plays.) It hangs up for 2 or 3 min before I can get to that point though.

Seems if I disable dx11 is seems to work OK but won't go over 60 fps with vsync off. Is that normal? From what I've read it looks like this was an issue the first patch was supposed to take care of. I'm not sure if my Steam downloaded copy has the patch installed though.

Vsync or the frame limit is set in the config files.

After changing the setting so it reads 'bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE', I was getting 100 fps, slow downs were less noticeable due to this.

I had so many problems with GFWL I gave up during the installation process, uninstalled from Steam and never played the game again.

Thanks. I also found this which i've been using. Seems to work, but still get some stuttering here and there for some reason.

" If you go into "..\Steam\steamapps\common\batman2\BmGame\Config" you will find a file called "DefaultEngine.INI". It is this file you will want to open, and scroll way down until you find [Engine.GameEngine]. Under there, you will see that bSmoothFrameRate=TRUE, you can leave this enabled. What you want to change is MinSmoothedFrameRate to 0, then change MaxSmoothedFrameRate to 999, and this will allow the game to fall anywhere between 0 and 999 FPS for true unlocked performance."

It really is a pain. When I made my original account (specifically for B:AC) is assigned me some goofy screen name, I didn't think anything of it until today when I went it and changed it. When I went back to play my saved game, they deleted it! Same email address and account, just changed my screen name. I haven't decided if i'm going to start over yet or not. I was looking through Steam and Origin for a replacement game, but haven't found anything yet.

thanks, for the edit info. I did the edit to both games. I just played some of the first one in 3D, and must say it was pretty cool.

I also have a weird name, Outboardlight2 or something. Not that I care as I have yet to play a GWL game in online multiplayer.

    +1 rep given for posting...thanks

GFWL will assign you a randomly generated name at first but you can rename yourself on Xbox.com.

Personally my issue with GFWL was that it would not update to let me play the damn game.
In the end i got it to work somehow but my hate for it grew stronger.

    Thank you.
I just went to Xbox.com and was able to change my name for GFWL.

yes, but don't do it if you've already started playing. It will delete your saved game.
