So it's not only WatchDogs that will be delayed, the difference is that it will be delayed until Spring this year. It's a good thing when a game release is delayed to give more time to improve its development.

Yup, hope they use that time wisely and make a truly epic game.
-
and use that time to avoid asking for 40Gb HDD space and a quad + 6 gigs of ram with a GTX 560 Ti minimum
-
Yea.. similar things were said about Watch Dogs when it got delayed, but in the end it's still a performance hog and graphical mess, not to mention the bugs. games are not really delayed for optimization there must be other reasons
-
Looks like everything is delayed to 2015.. Not a bad thing if it means quality production.
-
Do we really need another batman clone every single year?

I'm gonna sound very pessimistic here, but I gotta keep spreading the knowledge around. I don't know what its original release date was. I CAN say that if it was october/november this year, that it was pushed back so it would get more sales by releasing in a time when nobody is fighting down for 3-4 other AAA titles. It is why Watch Dogs was delayed. AAA games don't get "delayed". AAA games WILL release on their release date, bugs and performance hitches be damned. They will hire other studios, try all kinds of tricks, cut areas from the game to later come back in as DLC, whatever you can think of. They *WILL* release when they say they will release. If you see a AAA game being delayed, it's because there is a marketing reason for it. So don't assume that the game will simply "be better" or "have more time put into making it good quality". That doesn't happen. When budget runs out, budget runs out. Watch Dogs had over 6 months of delayed time and didn't do diddly squat with it, as was evident by its release state optimization-wise and feature-wise. That game was just basically left there and they let marketing ride the hype for it to get more sales and then released it in a time where few other games were anticipated. Don't feel surprised if Arkham Knight is doing this same thing. AAA games are costing more and more to make and need to sell more and more each year to make a profit. They can't afford to release Hype Game #7 alongside Hype Games #s 1 through 6. Know what else is October - November time? Assassin's creed, CoD, EA's FPS (usually; this year is different apparently), some other AAA that varies by year (2013 was batman Arkham Origins, 2012 was Halo 4, etc). And I'm sure some other fully hyped game fighting for a $60-$120 during that timeframe. It isn't good business for games that need to sell more to compete with others. Watch Dogs didn't wanna compete with Batman, CoD, Battlefield and AC last year oct/nov, so they did march. Then realized that march contained Dark Souls 2, Titanfall, South Park: The Stick of Truth, FF X/X-2 HD Remastered, Infamous: Second Son and MGS V: Ground Zeroes. Ain't even considering Thief and RE4: Ultimate HD PC edition which were at the end of february. So they pushed back again to may, when their only real competition was wolfenstein (which some people didn't even know was coming out, me included) and Mario Kart 8 which isn't even on a competing system. Gotta watch the trends, my friends =3
That being said, it might still be an awesome game and optimized and plays well and whatever else in the world. Just don't be too hopeful that a pushed back release date = better quality, because they usually just finish up the game and don't do much with it until it releases. Wait till it comes out if you must, screw pre-ordering. We're mainly PC gamers here... Totalbiscuit will rip a game to shreds if it sucks for PC. He's got two GTX Titans and an i7-3930K with 32GB DDR3 2000MHz RAM, so if it runs crappily for him, feel free to stay far away from it. He also breaks down the options menus and sees what we're missing or not missing. Doesn't hurt to hold off till a game comes out, the pre-order bonuses ain't ever gonna be that good, honestly.
Edit: Oh yeah, if you're wondering why some people are straying away from year-end this year, consider that the incarnation of hype, with hype even surpassing watch dogs and titanfall combined, is releasing in september. Its name is Destiny. Year-end is not going to be a good year for other games this year =D -
What's Destiny?

, but in all seriousness, the demo at E3 for Batman looked really good, hopefully we just end up with a better game with the delay no matter what it's for.

Jokes aside though, the point is that we have it for whatever we want. Just because my machine is strong doesn't mean I need to play BF4 on ultra 24/7 -

Agree with Wingnut, it's certainly a waste of money. But it's your money, so it's cool
