Nvidia has disclosed the system requirements for Batman: Arkham Knight.
NVIDIA Discloses Batman: Arkham Knight PC System Requirements
All I can say is, if you need a 980 to play it on Ultra, it better be impressive.
-
Dead link.
Anyway I believe Ultra also includes UHD (4K) resolution. Arkham Knight is using Unreal Engine 3.5 (the DX11 update of UE3), which is pretty outdated at this point. If 3 years ago a single GTX 680 could run Samaritan (first UE3.5 tech demo) at 1080p60 in real-time, then a 980 should have no problem maxing out the game at 1080p, or 4K with slightly reduced settings.Last edited: Apr 25, 2015 -

Gathering the performance of arkham origins and unreal engine I think this is a overreaction hype to promote the game.
Assuming they use a revised upgraded version of ue and there are no shenanigans of arkham city with dx11 it should perform well on all machines. -
I would take any system requirements directly from NVIDIA with a pinch of salt.. They're obviously going to exaggerate it so they can sell more of their high end GPUs...

I found Batman: Arkham Knight online for under $25 and pre-loading it now.
I just ran the Arkham Origins benchmark on the M18xR2 with the CPU at 4.3GHz and 780M SLI running stock clocks and got FPS Min: 83 Max: 225 Avg: 155 with maxed out graphics settings. I'll run it with 980M SLI and post that also. We can see how Arkham Knight compares. I sure do hope it has a benchmark tool like they always have in the past.

25? I'd pay that...
What's going to really suck is UE4 is made for single GPU... Glad this game isn't using that engine....Mr. Fox likes this. -

Nope, no issues. I have purchased a number of Steam titles over the past few years from that cdkeyhouse.com and they all work great. This is where I purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order, Watchdogs and Crysis 3, all of which were far less than Steam or Origin had ever offered them at that point in time. When they have great deals they are usually unbeatable, but their "normal" prices are nothing to get excited about.

I think I got all of them? I haven't played Batman since NES... Lol.

Had to remove my invoice number.. I think these are all of them...

They are charging me tax... In a state that doesn't have online tax... But 26 and change is still cheap.
Edit: Its done... But the title of the email says barcode... I'm assuming this a retail box key. Putting it in Steam now.
Edit2: It is a Steam key. For anyone considering the deal. I hit add a game and activate Activate a Product on Steam... Took the key and gave me presale warning that it can't be played yet. *bows to the Fox* Thanks for the deal, now I have to install my Bundle Stars keys I've racked up... Steam gets mad after awhile lol BTW...look for another giveaway...I bought their all stars 2 bundle the other day, forgot about it, bought it again today... Instead of doing each of the 8 keys individually I'll do a giveaway for all.
Edit3 - Oh man Steam blocked me from entering keys again lol...Last edited: Jun 22, 2015Mr. Fox likes this. -
Well, this is interesting. I'm sure some of you have seen me chirping about how newer NVIDIA drivers suck and cause severe throttling with 780M SLI in my M18xR2. I had not payed close enough attention, but it looks like older drivers also perform better on my Clevo P570WM with 980M SLI. Look at the previous benchmark with 780M SLI using 345.20 drivers (the newest I can use without severe throttling) and then look at this comparison with 980M SLI. Somebody needs to jack-slap the goofballs responsible for NVIDIA's crappy drivers... real hard.
I was initially shocked that 780M SLI was somehow outperforming my 980M SLI, then I thought about the fact I was using the crappy new drivers on the Clevo. So, I installed my 345.20 desktop driver mod on the Clevo... low and behold...

System Requirements
- MINIMUM:
- OS: Win 7 SP1, Win 8.1 (64-bit Operating System Required)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-750, 2.67 GHz | AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.4 GHz
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 | AMD Radeon HD 7870 - 2 GB Memory Minimum
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 45 GB available space
- RECOMMENDED:
- OS: Win 7 SP1, Win 8.1 (64-bit Operating System Required)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz | AMD FX-8350, 4.0 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 - 3 GB Memory Recommended
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 55 GB available space
At least GTX 970m and 980m should be able to have a heyday with this game. But 55GB required disk space is insane. But with GTX 660 and Phenom II X4 as minimums, mid range laptops from the last year or so should be able to run it reasonably well. - MINIMUM:

I've always hated that minimum and recommended garbage. Go to www.systemrequirementslab.com and have them detect your hardware. It always errs to the side of caution so ignore the CPU and the fact it can't read VRAM for anything but I've found its just about dead on for everything else. Look at the percentile ratings... But come on we all know that it's not TW3. If you can run TW3 you can definitely run this game. UE is crazy optimized for PC..
-
Agreed, 55GB required storage space?
Gonna have to download this at my University. My ISP sucks.

This arrives just in time. GTA V done, on to the Batman-ultra settings here I come.
-
new nvidia drivers come out to a crappy reception....so will see if the 350.12 drivers will still be playable.
-
Where does it store the game on Steam? I can't find it even though it says pre-load complete.

Can't play Fullscreen using 353.30 (the latest release "optimized" for Arkham Knight lol). Got blinking screen and can't play.

What a mess.
Fullscreen mode utterly broken. Flashes black every second and runs in slow motion. A joke. Developers these days can't code for laptops to save their life. How come every game released before Dragon Age Inquisition runs fine in fullscreen mode? Trust EA to start off the crappy tends. F***.
And that's not all. Ran the benchmark. Overclocked. 20fps at 1080p - ARE YOU SERIOUS?! The Witcher 3 runs precisely 40% better than that on average. Again, a joke.
What's more, the texture option is locked to normal only. WTF?!
And Geforce Experience claims that my 980M doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the game. Ugh.
Well this has been a very bad first impression indeed. Wow

I had 36 fps average at 1080p on ultra (except for AA - Off) [Borderless Windowed Mode]. I don't know whats going on with recent releases having problem with fullscreen. Dirt Rally also does not run in fullscreen in mobile cards...
-
EPIC fail...
PC gaming is going down the toilet.
Only GTA V and Witcher 3 did some justice this year. -
You´re not the only ones. Something is really wonky with this release:

Minimum requirements updated to AMD 7950: http://steamcommunity.com/games/208650/announcements/detail/207511695916345923

30 fps cap can only be edited in .ini.
Desktop 970 and 980 users can´t hold 30 fps at 1080p.
TitanX can´t average 60 fps at 1080p.
I´ll still try this tonight but looks like we´re a patch or ten away from decent performance.

I don't understand, what's going on with full screen mode lately? Dirt Rally as mentioned above is the same, I've never had this issue in 15+ years of laptop gaming... so annoying. I even read reports of some desktop users having full screen mode issues.
Curious, also reading reports this has crap DRM as well that wasn't ever mentioned, anyone found that to be true? I haven't had time to investigate.
EDIT: Well, after managing to enable Borderless Windowed mode, I could at least try the game. Ran the benchmark real quick and it ran rock solid. I have V-sync enabled and I use Nvidia Inspector to limit my FPS to 45, and it was totally stable on 45 the entire time, no dips or stutters. Will be curious how the game plays, but this was at least a bit encouraging.
EDIT 2: As a follow up, performance is not as bad as I first was reading. Borderless window actually runs fine, I changed the frame rate cap to 45, and it's steady and smooth. Had an hour to play before work. Two big take aways, the Batmobile is awesome (love battle mode), and Jonathan Banks is the voice of Commissioner Gordon... good stuffLast edited: Jun 23, 2015 -
The fullscreen saga is really annoying me. Up until last year, every game worked fine. Since DAI last year, it seems that almost every game has major issues staying in fullscreen mode with optimus systems.
Now it can't be a driver issue as all games that were working before still work just fine. So I put the blame squarely on the developers. I mean, previous UE3 engine games work fine in fullscreen. But no, not this one.
It's so bizarre that this issue spans all game engines. RED Engine, Frostbite, UE3 etc. And yet older titles running on these engines are just fine.
What is going on?

I can't say I'm surprised to see so many issues but that is rather unfortunate. I'm in bed sick today so I don't know if I'll feel up to fussing with it.

Sad to see the last chapter of my beloved Batman games to get such release... Hope Rocksteady will fix it in the near future.
In the mean time, for people who bought it on Steam, maybe it's time to try out that brand new refund thingy.

It's worse than I could have ever feared.
So... we all know how this game is borked under fullscreen mode, right?
Well guess what... windowed borderless only runs at native resolution, with the resolution options greyed out in the menu. For me, that means 4K and consequently performance is dire to say the least. I know it's running 4K because the NVIDIA FPS counter is smaller than it would otherwise be at 1080p.
This is the most broken PC game I have ever had the displeasure of buying.

@Cakefish try to select the resolution at windowed non-borderless, then change to borderless after u selected the desired resolution. It worked for me.
-
I'm currently running the benchmark at windowed mode 1080p and sure enough seeing over double the performance of borderless windowed mode.
Edit: not working for me. It automatically jumps to 4K resolution under borderless windowed mode and will not allow me to change it

I'm seeing PC bashing reviews of this game everywhere and I'm scared to buy it. Would an 880m be able to run this maxed out at 30fps? I played origins and city on my wii u and that was capped at 30 and had some frame rate dips in the low 20s and I never complained.
-
Time for everyone to make use of their Steam refunds!

Help, please...

I'm having similar issues. full screen does not work. Borderless full screen is at native res, but in my case 1080p which is fine. But why not full screen? It flickers like mad.
Did they even test this game? I tried a couple older drivers and still same issue. Insanely stupid. You lose some performance from running in windowed mode too.Last edited: Jun 23, 2015 -
Judging by how Dragon Age Inquisition and The Witcher 3 never fixed their fullscreen issues, I guess this means that I will never be able to play this game until I buy a whole new system that either lacks Optimus or lacks a 4K display.
THANKS ROCKSTEADY!!! THANKS WARNER BROS.!!! -
Hmm... the lack of Ultra settings doesn't bode well for me. Even if I wasn't going to play at maxed, its absence is odd.
