I have an issue, maybe you can help.

I play BF2 online (or try to!) but my PING are very high, normally 500 upwards. Couple of weeks ago I played it PING was 30. Weird...why?

This is my LAN set up at home:

    ________________ 8-port switchHub _______________
    _______________ / _______ | ______ \ _______________
    ______________
    / ________ | _______ \ ______________
    __ WirelessRouter _____ HomePC ____ G1Laptop ______

I have done the following/made sure that:
    • No one else downloads from the wireless network/LAN (wireless security enabled anyway)
    • I have disabled auto windows update
    • Made sure there is no downloads (eg uTorrent etc)
    • Even tried disabling my antivirus temporary (Bitdefender-I know it does not take up much resources)
So why is my ping so high? Can someone maybe hijacked wireless network? My service provider is up to 8MBPS. Maybe fault with service provider?

well unhook or disable the wireless and try it then. And you are connected via nic right not wireless.

That's correct, I connect through NIC only. I have disabled my wireless. Still slow...

    Hi guys,

I went to my friend's house, we played BF2 online with the same set up I have mentioned above. There was NO LAG at all, ping about 9.

So it must definetely be my SP or somehow someone must be using our wireless that I don't know of.
