I have an issue, maybe you can help.
I play BF2 online (or try to!) but my PING are very high, normally 500 upwards. Couple of weeks ago I played it PING was 30. Weird...why?
This is my LAN set up at home:
________________ 8-port switchHub _______________
_______________ / _______ | ______ \ _______________
______________ / ________ | _______ \ ______________
__ WirelessRouter _____ HomePC ____ G1Laptop ______
I have done the following/made sure that:
So why is my ping so high? Can someone maybe hijacked wireless network? My service provider is up to 8MBPS. Maybe fault with service provider?
- No one else downloads from the wireless network/LAN (wireless security enabled anyway)
- I have disabled auto windows update
- Made sure there is no downloads (eg uTorrent etc)
- Even tried disabling my antivirus temporary (Bitdefender-I know it does not take up much resources)
-
well unhook or disable the wireless and try it then. And you are connected via nic right not wireless.

Hi guys,
I went to my friend's house, we played BF2 online with the same set up I have mentioned above. There was NO LAG at all, ping about 9.
So it must definetely be my SP or somehow someone must be using our wireless that I don't know of.
