Notebookcheck.net reports the 9800M GT as a 65watt and the 9600M GT as a 23watt. 42watts is a huge difference in terms of power, and I'm guessing that it will be a significant drain on battery life. I already have a desktop, and I don't want another one in a laptop case. Can anyone speculate on or have any information on how much the battery life difference is/will be?

Well since the 9800 is most likely going to be in a lappy with a bigger battery, I'd say the difference would be around 15-30 mins. (speculating of course).

    Actually, the 9800(NP8660) has an 8 cell and the 9600(powerpro 15:13) has a 9-cell.

I have no clue. You're gonna have to wait for reviews since those cards haven't been released yet. Maybe you can look up the difference between the 8800 and 8600?
