    Thread says it all.

Ubisoft's classic is really awesome and I felt like I wanted to try it again... except I was ahead in the OS.

Basically when I select units to run or when a fight ensues, the frame rate drops like anything and basically a massive lag happens. Also buildings and unit textures stretch during the lag period as well.

I googled as best as I could but apparently every Win-7 user is experiencing the same thing. Most people would cite a solution having an extra Win XP boot for the game to work which is not worth it I feel. I tried it on compatibility SP3 mode and tried the NVIDIA graphics settinsg to not scale to fit my native 1900x1200 reso on my Alienware m17x (The in-game options support 1024x768 max and tweaking up to 1600x1200 through .ini files)

Are there any solutions within the Windows 7 premise?

    Any solutions out there?

The alternative I found was to have dual boot with windows xp but that will be last resort.

I really like this game so I'd appreciate any help on fixing this for Windows 7
