    Here's my take.

Battlefield: Heroes- WW2, Team Fortress 2 knockoff. Free to play, download only.

Battlefield: 1943- WW2, revamped 1942 with new GFX engine, 24-player max online, apparently download only.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2- Modern combat, improvement over original console version and coming to PC as well, 24-player max is probably the max if it's going to consoles and ported over to PC.

What the hell? DICE is behaving like M$, release three different flavors of Battlefield games. What kind of quality can we expect if they are working on three major titles at once?

Did DICE forget that BF2 was their most successful game ever? Why have they abandoned BF3? That would have been a sure hit. Now we have THREE new Battlefield games coming out and no one knows if they will even be close to what BF2 was like in quality/gameplay/fun.

Lets look at this, BF was always a very successful PC franchise with BF1942 and its expansions and the follow up with on of the biggest successes of all time BF2 while the console versions were always mediocre at best. What would EA do to follow up BF2, why release a bunch of knock off console games and a free to play PC game which it has admitted is more targeted towards Asian markets and then port the console games to the PC in essence taking the worst aspect of there series and porting it to the PC, !

Might I add they are also developing a game marketed exclusively towards Korean gamers.

Battlefield Heroes (PC, download only, free)
Battlefield 1943 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, download only, pay)
Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Xbox, PS3, PC, hard media, pay)
Battlefield Korea (unknown title and little info available only that it is confirmed)

and the 5th title in development is a sequel to Army of Two. Another thing that was know before the announcement of BF1943 was that there were 5 titles in development with a few unknowns which have all been revealed. There is a rumor going around that they don't want to start BF3 until they get things worked out with Heroes until they can get there new model for marketing (get the most money out of you to keep the game updated). I say screw all this and just start working on the BF series like an MMO and call it Battlefield, allow us to go to different theaters of combat, add famous battles from throughout the 20th century and have some fun with it. I am just frankly getting sick of this whole feeling around what is the most popular direction to take...here is a clue, Battlefield 2 was your biggest hit and Desert Combat was the most popular mod for a game EVER! Now give us BF3 already, COD is making you guys look like look like a joke.

PS. Now I'm waiting around for Mirror's Edge 2!

So is Bad Company 2 supposed to be Battlefield 3? If it's max 24 person servers, then that will suck. I don't care for 64 person servers as it's too crowded, but 32-40 person ones are perfect. 24 is too sparse, and probably means the maps will be small.

Bad company was cool, I couldn't get over the terrible xbox360 controller though, trying to snipe is nearly impossible unless they walk right into your crosshares. And the destruction was far less than I expected, but it was still fun. 24 players is certainly not enough, that's 12vs12 which is smaller than most counter strike matches, and look how small those maps are. I disagree that 64 player matches are too crowded because the maps on BF games are usually HUGE, this isn't like CoD, these maps are gigantic with vehicles and all sorts of things, so even 200 players wouldn't feel crowded imo. I'm pretty sure the PC version either will support more, or people will make their own servers that support more, much like the CoD games where people have messed with the configuration to support up to 64 players. My only problem with these new games is that they're made by DICE, which has always made good games, but they're owned by EA which could be pretty bad.

This is a huge disappointment. Why couldn't they make BF1943 a fill game for both PC and console and save bad company 2 for later? They haven't even finished the 'heros' experiment yet and they decide to leap into a whole lot of other projects.

Making all these small projects amounts to poor business sense in a time like this. They don't realize that the best thing they could do is have a full game that was guaranteed to succeed such as a complete BF1943 or BF3.
