LOL...so my GPU idols from 52-67C....and in game i think it runs towrd 70C...there is no overclock yet i get these flashing black polygons (artifacts) on the ground...they drive me insane...i have 18kfangui and my notebook propper up to help airflow...i'm started to think it isnt a heat related problem...(maybe a vista on lol)

I have latest drivers (through device manager update)

Hmmm mine idles at 55-61ish also, and can even reach the 80s in games. Try using ATITool to scan for artifacts. If it doesnt find any then it's just the game being buggy on Vista. I get some weird flashing things on some models (mostly hair) in FFXI, yet ATITool doesnt pick up artifacting and other games look fine, so I guess it's the game itself.

I have some really bad news for you my friend. Your gpu is about to fry. I can say this because i experienced it first hand with bf2 with my inspiron 9300 with a geforce 6800. I had artifacts while playing bf2 for about a month and then my gpu fried on me..

Well, i am also running Vista (specs in sig). I also notice black polygons, i think it is just a sorta bug. I play BF2 on Low (although it is playable on high) and i notice this polygons, i think its just the map loading whilst playing.

My laptop definatly isnt overheating, i can play BF2 with lowest on off fan - set on auto (Sat on an X-Pad)

honestly guys, one case of gpu frying after bf2 artifacts doesn't mean everyone's gpu, same or different, is going to do the same.

As said above download & run ATi Tool then scan for artifacts if its all clear then its most probably not a hardware issue but instead a software problem.
