Was this an online thing? heh maybe I should have asked (wasn't in vein though, got bioshock and a wii component cable).

 

No, it was not an online deal. Try target, I found a handful of Deluxe Boxes and the 10 dollar ones you were talking about.

I could be completely wrong about this. However at bestbuy today there were $10 box sets for BF2. They are NOT the full game they are just the 2 booster packs bundled together. Again there could be some special deal somewhere I don't know about.

 

they also had the full bf2 game for $10. i bought it there yesterday. however, i did buy the last copy there they had the 2 in 1 booster pack for $10 also, but i didn't get that.

 

Boosters are ok I think. All you really need is BF2 and the SF expansion and your set.

 

^ Yeah...just BF2 and SF expansion. The other expansions aren't that good.

 

Check amazon for battefield 2 deluxe editon. got it for 10 bucks.

how is that game? i've never played it. i used to play the original unreal tournament way back in the day and it was fun.

Have you tried battlefield 2142?? BF 2 is fun, but 2142 really is an experience!

 

I played bf2142 at on my cousin's laptop, it was exciting. Loved how they merged the assault & medic together. Battlewalker was a nice addition, but didn't really liked them, as I prefer to play as a soldier.

One disappointment was the Recon kit. It lacked the feel of sniping in bf2. In bf2, I loved to run from grass patches to bushes, hide in there silently and wait for someone to capture the flag, and... In bf2142, there is no grass or bushes that could conceal myself. Once in bf2, I was hiding in this bush and the enemy would actually walk pass me without noticing. This is not possible in bf2142, as all the plantation died after the world froze.

The new gadgets were pretty cool, especially the the item that could turn you invisible, that was my favourite.

If both were the same price thou, I would get bf2 mainly due to a more rewarding sniping experience, but bf2142 also has its own pros, depends on your gaming preference.

 

Well, in sniping in 2142, just turn up on your viewing distance to 100%, hide in the upper hills or rocks where it is dark, and you can snipe without the camo, cause you are hidden.

2142 sniping is more realistic anyways with shooting. Your scope moves while you are trying to aim. Therefore, requiring you to get a scope stabalizer.

In BF 2, you have a perfect sniping scope with no movement at all. That's pretty cheap and not real anyways.( It's almost possible to get a perfect scope without moving, but if you used a tripod, it does significantly reduce your movement).

ew...single player? that must have been boring. When you get your lappy i would suggest the Project Reality mod. As the name implies its a little more realistic.

 

I feel ya here, thats why I prefer BF2 as well, I couldnt stand the battlewalker for some reason. Plus, I'm a sniper at heart.

 

Can mac players play PC players online?

Okay. The teamspeak server is halfhalo.homelinux.org. It might be slow since im running all my projects before school on that particular server. It should speed up soon. Someone wanna make me a webpage for it? I have php installed on the server. Its apache on linux. I got room one, maybe two ts servers. I got Channel Admin for NBR users.

o i do have real game except i play demo ㅡ.ㅡ i can;t play online with original because of the lag but demo is fine... i ll try to get it fixed. well i nv joined clan before ;p but i am willing to join one if you guys start the clan. my gamename is jimev777 or something. o yeah how do i people in games like into the friend list... i don;t see it demo..

I have CS:S and BF2, except BF2 is all screwed up at the moment...
Considering buying BF2142.
If the server isnt laggy for me I'd consider throwing in 2 bucks a month.

BF2 server are very expesive. Like 47 bux expensive. Anyone got a cheaper way to get a server.

 

I'm pretty sure EA allows you to add the clan tag to your name without making a new account. I haven't tried though.

I play bf2 and 2142 and enjoy both equally (but not for exactly the same reasons, ie bf2 seems more realistic, battlelike, while 2142 feels like Halo).

On another note, anyone who wants to get a cheap copy of bf2 so we can get a big enough group can get it at Frys and gamestop for $5. All you have to do is preorder MoH: Airborne and you get a free copy (of course you dont have to pick up MoH). Someone on another forum said they even reneged on the presell and didnt have to return the bf2 disk. Not sure if its online. I got a copy for my bro so we can play together.

 

Single player is actually quite entertaining, you'd be surprised. I love making a circle of C4s around their last base and then when they spawn blowing them all up, =)

 

It all about getting into a pane, switching to bombs, aim at the other base, launch the bombs and jump out right before they hit. If you time it right knowing will even now your there. Bugs the crap out of my friends when i bomb their airfield

 

I suck at bombing, there should be some kind of camera-system, similar to what they use in real life and/or the helicopters in BF2.

 

You don't need to accually hit something. Just a diversion while you land

 

I'm just saying, it would be so cool if they had a camera system for bombing like in real life, =)
