    i manage to fix the usual problems regarding battlefield 2 on vista but now it says on start up that i need to install directx 9c. i have just updated my graphics card (8600m gt) driver does that have something to do with it? i have version 167.43

    No harm following the instructions. Go to the Microsoft website and download the latest DirectX platform and see if the problem goes away.
