Just a post asking you to add on your notebook if it does work with Battlefield 2 and whether the quality is poor / good / great.
Just add your notebook underneath the last one. Also if it does not work the first person to let us know just create DOES NOT WORK SECTION

sorry, but this is a question about a laptop im getting hopefully in the near future. I just wanna know how well a system like this will run BF2.
Dell Inspiron 93000
intel pentium m 760 2ghz
1gb of ddr2 sdram
nvidia geforce go 6800 256mb
60gb hd 7200 rpm
microsoft windows xp proffesinal
all that for around $2000 with $750 with the coupon.
So, will that be able to run BF 2 with high settings?
-
I'm fairly certain that that 9300 will be able to run BF2 very, very well, considering it could blow away DooM3 at maximum settings. A tip: Don't buy the RAM from Dell; just get the 256MB from Dell and buy 2 gigs of Transcend off of newegg.com. You'll end up saving about $15 and getting twice as much RAM.
--------------------
Dell Inspiron 9300(?): Intel Pentium-M 1.86GHz Sonoma, 1.25GB DDR533 RAM, GeForce Go6800
Gateway 7422GX: AMD Athlon 64 3400+, 1024MB DDR RAM, 64MB Mobility RADEON 9600 (May be going to my parents.)
AVERATEC AV3270-EH1: AMD Mobile Sempron 2800+, 512MB DRR RAM, 64MB (shared) S3G Unichrome -
I have an I6000d with a 128 x300, 512 ram, pentium-m 1.86, and a 5400 rpm drive. BF2 ran on mine on low settings but it ran fairly smooth. I am upgrading the hd and the ram so hopefully it will run better then.
-
it runs fine on the 9300 just dont update the driver when asked.

I had to set all settings to medium to get it to run smoothly.
I figure EA Games will release a patch soon because its so buggy.
Just another bad codeing job from are friends at EA.
hope this helped... -

On the XPS2 "high" settings are completely unplayable due to HDD accessing. I can only make the game run lag free at medium and have no problems going to 1600x1200 with 4x AA. But the game is very buggy and unresponsive. I get connection problems frequently, although a large number of those were caused by my 2915 wireless card, as usual [
!]. Without it being in use the lag is much more managable.
I'm really surprised. I've had the game crash in the menus on me several times and the graphics are no where near Joint Ops. [] Outside of a vehicle there's little you can do, which is annoying.

i run it 1024x768 res and low settings... to me it looks better than 800x600 and medium settings -
i didnt touch any of the settings on the game after the install and found it to be running fairly smooth, some jerks here and there. Lowering quality settings would have given better performance

Runs BF 2 on HIGH at 1024x768 awesomely (is thats a word) so i would see no probs with a 9300, like if u get a 256mb go6800 it would fly, the only thing that concerns me is that my mate has a low end dell like a inspiron 2100 u know celeron chip and all that and it gets very hot i don't know if they have fixed this probelm but i don't really think it would matter cause all laptops get hot and if ur worryied like i am just go and get a good cooler antecs one is great
P.S if yall in australia like i am check out www.staticice.com, u can seach for the lowest price on technology from all over AUS

The demo runs perfectly smooth at absolutely maximum settings (everything, including AA, at max) on mine. I've got to say, I had a blast, a lot better than I'd expected.
Question though: Does the full version have support for widescreen resolutions? If it does, I may just pick this up. -

Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:
Radeon X700 (PCIe)
Radeon X600 (PCIe)
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)

NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
NVidia GeForce 6800
NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series -
So, do you think that a 128MB ATI Radeon 200M w/ Hypermemory be able to run Battlefield 2? Based on the list I would think not, but I just want to be sure before I forget about BF2.
Thanks,
AI -
Unless mtrivs has somehow super-mutated his computer or something, yes, it will run on an x200M.
-
I just got BF2 today, downloaded it, started it up, and NOTHING!!!! I get to the first logo and that's it. I reinstalled it, updated it and my graphics card. Didn't help so i personally can't recommend it. So now i'm stuck with nothing. From what i've read not to many people have this problem (can't find a solution) but something to consider when buying BF2 on a I9300.
-
It's sick that you need "special" Graphic Cards to even start it. And on the box it's nothing about it. I know many people that bought the game and even cant start it.
-
To all of those having issues with the game not getting past the logos on their Inspiron 9300s: Did you update your drivers when the installer asked you to? Because, um, you shouldn't have, those are not only dated but are also meant for desktop cards.
So uninstall your nVidia drivers, install the ones from Laptopvideo2Go, and reinstall Battlefield 2...and this time, DO NOT update your drivers when it asks you to. -
I'm using the latest driver from Dell and not desktop drivers. All my other games work just fine, though i only get a score of 3100 on 3dmark05, a little low. From what i've read most people are getting 4000 or higher with specs close to mine. Any suggestions as to which driver from laptopvideo2go works best with a go6800? Thanks for any help.
-
I use these: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7379
The 77.70's are the latest laptop drivers. I have no problems with BF2 at all. -
Tried em, no good. I did get a higher 3dmark05 score though, 3464. Thanks.

I ran into a similar problem when upgrading my graphics card on a desktop machine. It originally had a ATI 9000 Pro, after I uninstalled all the drivers and installed a Nvida 5700 Ultra I had problems playing Need for Speed Ungroung 2. Everything else place, but that game just crashed when I ran it.
I naturally assumed I didn't uninstall the old cards right so I went into the registry manually and looked for entries. I found nothing; I had uinstalled the drivers using ATI's uninstall utility and Your Uninstaller 2004. I still don't know what caused it, the drivers were up to date but I decided to do a system restore and it fixed the problem.
The problem can only be driver related or a bug in the game. A system restore worked for me, and if your out of options I'd give it a shot. -
That is one of the reason I moved from Nvidia to ATI after the Ti4400 cards, I always felt that the Catalyst drivers were always better updates to performnces and corrections. Its funny I remember buying a Voodoo2 card back in the day adter saying up a LOT of allowance, LOL Not i can go get an X850XT like its nothing. You guys remember Voodoo?
-
Hey guys , I have some problem with BF2.
When I was playing BF2 for a while, the game is frozen then
the blue screen comeup and I need to restart my Notebook
after that.
Anyone has this problem also?
ps. I'm using Acer TM8104WLMi with ATI MRX700 128mb -
That sounds like it could be related to an overheating issue. Do you have anything (GPU, processor) overclocked? Does your notebook get proper circulation (Eg, if the vents are on the bottom, do you have a chill mat of some sort)?
-
I don't have a Notebook stand and a chill mat.
and no overclock as well
maybe I need to get some Notebook stand.
ps. I live in Australia atm , which is in Winter season -
With BF2 it comes down to RAM. I have a Inspiron 9300 with a Go 6800 and there are way too many stutter even though the game is running at 80-90 FPS on low details. It is loaded with 512 MB Ram, when i play it on my desktop with a Radeon 9600 256MB it plays awesome with medium settings. The desktop has 1 gig of pc2700 RAM (considerably slower then the PC4200 RAM in the inspiron). BF2 is a resource hog you need pretty much 99% idle CPU + at least 1 gig of ram for it run smoothly. Also try to keep your page file reasonable as to keep it from swapping out textures etc to your hard drive, which will produce lots of stutter as it tries to load it from HD
-
I ve got Aspire 5024 and it just kicks me out of a game while loading at around 10%... aaahhh....

Found this topic while google searching.
I've got a Sony VGN-A690 and it runs beautiful at 1600x1200 @ low.
1GB DDR (PC2700/3200 I think)
Ati X600 PCI-E 128MB DDR
1.8ghz Intel Centrino
100gb 5400 RPM HD
17" Widescreen X-Brite Screen
FYI, I run with my page file disabled completely. -
Will Battlefield 2 run on the X300 64MB card in my Dell 6000?
-
it shouldn't run the system reqs say it need 128 vid mem atleast, I can't get BF2 to run on my craptop because the video card isn't compatabale, though it does have 128 megs of vid mem. I think bf2 is just really picky when it comes to video anything. However it does run fine on my desktop, so that makes me happy.

Hi,
Sorry But I Need To Ask This, I Have Been Searching Everywhere I Need To Know Wether My Laptop Will Be Able To Do The Job Of Running Battlefield 2, My Laptop Is The Evesham Quest Roma And The Specs Are As Follows:
Amd Turion 64 Mobile Technology Mt-28

512mb Ddr Ram, 333 Mhz
60gb 5400rpm Hard Drive
128mb Ati Mobility Radeon X700 Graphics

You got a good graphics card for a laptop but BF2 requires al least 512mb of ram so don't expect to play it on higher video settings. I'm sure you can find a setting that you would be happy with while still getting good FPS. The great thing about BF2 is that even on the medium and lower video settings, it still looks friggin awesome. Take a look at www.tweakguides.com/BF2_1.html to see the differences in settings and maybe it can give you an idea of how you would want to set yours.
