Will I'm not sure if it will work. Battlefield 2 needs a minmum of 128MB of graphics ram and 512MB of physical memory on Windows XP; You got 512MB of system memory and your graphics chip is using 64MB of that ram in shared, so that leaves you 448MB of system memory. Now keep in mind that you have Windows Vista as your operating system and Vista home basic alone needs 512MB of system ram to function. So unfortunately I think its best that you at least add another stick of 512MB before buying Battlefield 2.
You can always download the Battlefield 2 Demo and see how it goes. I remember my friend back in 2005 ran the demo with only 256MB of ram and a ATI 9200. It worked like cr*p, but it worked.![]()
Edit:// I just stumbled across one of your topics which you mentioned that your adding another stick of 1024MB of ram to your laptop, for a total of 1.5GB. In that case BF2 will run on your laptop, but performance wise it will run on low graphics settings. You might be able to have one or two medium settings, while I don't think you'll be able to boost textures higher than low.
PS. If you do purchase the game, make sure to right click on the BF2 icon after installation and go to /properties/Compatibility tab. From there, under “Compatibility Mode” select “Run this game in compatibility mode with Windows XP (Service Pack 2)” and check mark “Run this program as Administrator”. You need to do this in order to run the game under Windows Vista.

I have the HP Pavilion dv6287 with 1GB RAM, 160 GB SATA 5400 rpm, NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7200, with 256 MB TurboCache™, PCI Express, so I wonder if Battlefield 2 will work on it, can you help me? AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 L2-cache 512 kB + 512 kB, 1600 MHz systembuss wich drives in AC/DC-modus 35 Watt.
PS: I'm no god in speaking english(Yes i mean GOD, THE god, not good) -
It will work on the 7200 no problem, not at great settings but it will work. I'd say 800x600 or 1024x768 on medium settings might be possible, as long as you don't go crazy on the shadows and dynamic lighting.

OK, thank you very much.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 with the following specs:
Windows XP Professional
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.0 Ghz
2.0 GB of RAM
120 GB Hard Drive
ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256 MB
My only problem seems to be that in the game when i am walking/running it is choppy. I don't know why but it's really annoying. the game works fine and loads very fast, but seems to make my character run choppy.

well i was just going to go get the game, on my previous laptop the game did not work and ea told me that some systems will play the game while others won't. that is why im so hesitant on buying this right now with my new laptop because i dont want to throw 30 bucks out the door.
my problem was concerning joining the multiplayer servers, single player worked just fine. -

An affordable option would be a Pavilion DV6627CA.
Comes equipped with an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, Geforce 8400M, and 160GB HDD.
All at a price of just under a $1000 CND.
PS. Your english is just fine. -
This unit plays bf2 ok:
HP dv9207us
core duo 1.73ghz
2 gigs ram
geforce 7600go
160gig 5400rpm hd
settings are set to low with textures on med
still cant tv bomb for crap.
I used to think it played very good for a lappy but now I have a good desktop w/8800gts so I know what it should be like. -
Oh yea forgot the kicker: vista home premium
I bet with xp this would run it much better. -
Check both in your nVidia drivers section and under the Windows display preferences, they all have to be set at 60hz. -

Well I max out BF2 (everything as high as it gets) on 1024 by 786 including that filtering thing. I get around 25FPS. If I drop the filtering I get 45FPS. I have a core 2 duo 1.8ghz processor, 2gb of ram and a 8400GT graphics card.
Battlefield 2 Does your notebook work??
