I just bought Battlefield 2 and the shadows are really screwed up. They are really pixellated and jagged. I have a mobility x1600 and have tried the default drivers and 7.1. This is what they look like. (I don't have the 5.8 drivers, this is just a screenshot someone else made.)

What are your dynamic shadows settings?
-
I have them set to off right now so that I don't have to look at the horrible shadows, but it happens the same on low, med, and high settings.
-
im pretty sure its just something with ati cause i have the exact same problem u do. i will soon find out if its the x1600 or the whole 1k family once i get my new lappy in. but i know that it happened before with alot of games that are aimed towards nvidia hardware. have u tried omega drivers? i havent yet but that might be a possiblity. just some food for thought
-
oh and i have the exact same laptop as u. rofl
-
Wait I'm confused. You have the same laptop as me? In your sig it says you have an Alienware laptop.
-
well the alienware is on its way, ship date march 8th. i am on the travelmate now.
-

-

If it helps you, I have the same problem on BF2142 (2142 is just running off a modified 2 Engine), I just keep shadows off also.
