Battlefield 2 Upgrade - MG36 or P90?

I am about to promote in BF2. I have two weapons left to upgrade: the MG36 or P90. Which would you choose? I'm leaning towards the P90 since it is an AT class weapon, and the basic choices kinda suck.

I dont use the p90 too often, I prefer the mg36.

 

On account of the P90 is useless, I'd say go with MG36

The only upgrades that matter are the M95, the DAO shotgun, and G3, other than that, the rest are pretty moot.

 

The P90 used to be fearsome if you could dolphin-dive next to them and spray them. Now you need to be sniffing them with the new patch for the P90 to still work that way. TBH, I find the MP5 to be superior to all the AT weapons in terms of range and power. IMO, both those suck and I equally don't use them. Just pick the class you play with the most. The MG36 is nice if you actually survive long enough to need to reload since the reload on that is 3 times faster than stock. The P90 is nice if you hate iron-sights like I do but the large clip is pointless since you can only kill one person on average per clip.

Oh, and the MG36 has burst-fire if that matters to you.

 

If you're ranging people with an mp5/p90 as AT then you're doing something wrong - that's what your AT is for. DAO for anything close.

 

I'd go with the MG36, while the P90 is a big upgrade to me for the AT class, the MG36 is more significant for me since I actually play the supply class more than any other. It's only too bad I don't have the Special Forces expansion pack, because it's required for the third tier unlocks, no?

I would go for the MG36, simply because I play Support more than AT. I mainly do Medic, Assault and Sniper, though, so it's something of a moot point. I'm not anywhere near getting all the upgrades so far.

mobius: there are no third tier unlocks, Special Forces just gives you two unlocks per rank instead of one.

 

Well, depends on which class you play the most, I play AT mostly, so I went with P90 and use it whenever I play AT.

 

I have all the other upgraded weapons, just those are the last two. Depends on the map. I mainly play sniper, and have the two upgraded sniper rifles. But I do play engineer and medic quite frequently as well.

 

i think he means the Barret which is also called M82...... but yehh MG36 is way better... get that instead of MP5..

But anyways, its a matter of preference, I used to be into tourneys before my clan crashed and died so I was required to use stock weapons. If I had to compare the class unlocks with each other, the P90 offers some range and clip size in comparison with the DAO-12 as well as a dot scope but the MG36 doesn't really offer anything against the PKM, even in accuracy. I would go for the P90 if you're ambiguous about the two classes.

Man, this is giving me an urge to play again. I think I quit like a hour away from expert aviator and 400 points away from Major.

 

Well the "second" unlock I consider "third tier" because it's the third and last kit of a particular class even though SF is required for it.. The word tier I think works well in this sense.

For example the US Special Forces soldier class:

First tier: M4
Second tier: G36C
Third tier: SCAR-L
