    Just thought i'd say that bestbuy has bf2 for $9.99 now (along with some online vendors)

    if you were like me and on the fence about whether or not to buy battlefield 2, this makes the decision much easier. I just picked it up and it was a $10 well worth spent. good online fun!

    That's fantastic... I bought the game when it was released and then we ended up 2 months later moving into a new house... Well anyway the box with the cd key was thrown out... And I didn't wanna justify 59.99$ for a game i had already purchased so this is good news!! THX

    You can also find BF2 Deluxe Edition (comes with Special Forces) for $15-20 if you look around online.

    You can also pricematch to circuit city.

    I think it's just easy though to go to bestbuy and slap down a hamilton and walk out happy.

    See you on the battlefield :)

    CC says they'll refund 110% of the difference if you can find a lower price.

    BB = $10
    CC = $13
    Difference x 1.1 = $3.30

    So does anyone know what works as "proof" of the price at BB?

    AH! Ok thanks.

    Never played bf2.

    Edit: So do I need to buy the whole collection or do I just stick to the original to get the most out of the game? are the other games just like expansions and should I get them?

    I would suggest getting BF2 and the BF2: Special Forces expansion. There's a "BF2 Deluxe Edition" that includes both, and it's probably cheaper than getting them separately.

    Skip the Booster Packs (Euro Force and Armored Fury). From what I hear almost no one uses them anyway and they're quite buggy.

    At Fry's (dunno if you guys have Fry's in your locations), they're pre-selling the new Medal of Honor game, and the box includes Battlefield 2. $5.

    I would recommend getting BF2 and download the Project Reality mod. Many of the annoying things with BF2 vanilla is fixed here, and people are in general more mature and team play minded.

    bf2 is worth way more than 10 bucks. i'd pay the 50 just to play it. there is such a massive fanbase online that you have a game to play no matter what. if your into a more tactical combat based game i would also suggest getting ghost recon 2 :) good online fun.

    Yeah just bought battefield 2 deluxe edition for 10 bucks, 15 with shipping from amazon. Hope its good? Though I played a similar game I believe that involved the russians but that couldn't have been battefield 1942 could it?

    Yeah bf2 is great because of the extensive amount of mods both sp and mp.

    You got POE2 which is amazing and probably one of the best games ive played(thats right games).
    And then Forgotten hope 2 which is an extensive huge WW2 mod is also coming out.

    How much better could it get. I would pay 30 for POE2 at least.

    Thanks for the heads up, chonga! I'll look into picking up a copy. Don't have much time for games these days, so I only buy them on the cheap. $10 would be about right.

    Wow. The Project Reality mod really makes $10 worth it for BF2. I'll be sure to pick up a copy or two (for my brother) next time I pass by Target or Bestbuy. Too bad I don't have a computer that can play it though.

    How do the mods work? Once you install the project reality mod for example, then can you switch easily between it and vanilla or do you have to uninstall?

    Does it always take this long for the battlefield 2 servers to load? It seems whenever i log into my account it takes a good 10 minutes for servers to load. annoying.

    In-game server trackers tend to be pretty poor quality anyway. I'd suggest looking at an external tracker like All-Seeing Eye or Gamespy. I don't know if they work with BF2 though.

    Switching between mods and vanilla is no problem. You can do it by selecting "Custom games" in the BF2 ingame menu, or by choosing between the vanilla icon or the mod icon when starting the game.
