I feel like I am watching the trailer for Fast10

When I found out this game won't have a campaign, I immediately lost interest. No buy from me.
The series just returned to a modern/sci-fi theme, which are my favorites, just to pull this crap. There's zero reason for me to play a game without a campaign. I was really looking forward to playing another modern/sci-fi themed battlefield game.
Yes I know the focus is on the multiplayer, but the campaigns in the previous games were fun and I loved them. I only play campaign mode in battlefield games, or really any game for that matter since that's where I derive my enjoyment from.
Despite EA saying nobody plays the campaigns or wants singleplayer experiences, I have to strongly disagree. People just don't want CRAPPY singleplayer experiences. This game should've had a campaign just like all the previous ones. If nothing else, a campaign would help players become accustomed to the game's mechanics in preparation for multiplayer.dmanti, katalin_2003 and JRE84 like this. -

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Just feels like they try too hard to make it all exiting or for someone who has ADHD...JRE84 likes this. -

Finally a return to normal, looks like BF4 but on steroids, perfect. Played all the BF from the beginning, i am all for multi only
. With 128 players online hope to see some massive armored warfare, like 20 tanks on 20 tanks

The inevitable future Battle Royale mode will probably be F2P.

I'm glad they ditched the campaign, now they can focus more on multiplayer development like the game was always intended to be. Definitely looking forward to those 128 man servers.

hmm....
the lighting looks pretty realistic and those are some of the nicest looking trees iv'e seen in a game....hopefully the gameplay will match the graphics....im sure it will its BF after all...pretty excited now, at first I was like meh I skipped BF5 but when I heard they were bringing back all the awesome maps from the older games I was thinking this will be an instant buy if the initial reviews come out positive. -
Yes this Portal stuff looks great, so much customization, cant wait to see what the players can do with the modding, hope it will be bug free, so much stuff for sure will need a lot of testing.

I dont know if this is just an effect of me getting older but its getting harder and harder for me to see MP only titles (or in effect MP only) as anything more than a waste of time.
-
age!!
i barely play mp also...happens with age -
I never liked multiplayer to begin with. Single player or co-op campaigns all the way for me.
Turning anything into a contest immediately makes it not fun anymore. That's why I hate multiplayer. It's also really boring. The only exception is when I'm playing minecraft because I love building stuff, and that's always a cooperative activity when I do it.Last edited: Jul 26, 2021JRE84 likes this. -

More so once I felt that Multiplayer titles were a waste of time in its merit it became more and more difficult to continue playing them. Versus a story rich title that offers scenarios to be interpreted and experienced. I could walk away from a strong campaign title with new perspectives while MP titles only offer a more or less even playing field most of the time that doesnt offer me anything other than killing a few hours.
Not saying one is better than the other of course, just why I lost interest over time.
I did love BF1942 Desert Combat though, helicopters were really fun in that oneJRE84 likes this. -
I don't know how you did it but you reminded me of mass effect 2....man I miss games like that -
I have fond memories of multiplayer Battlefield 3 & 4. You can say I sucked, and I probably did but I hated the apparent cheaters shooting me through walls or with super high K/D ratios that I never could obtain.
I want to try again but it honestly feels like unless you spend every waking moment playing you will never compete. That is why I have preferred co-op games like Grim Dawn or Borderlands. I tend to play dozens of games at once so while I never become exceptional at any of them I enjoy playing all of them. -
Horizon: Zero Dawn explores what happened to humanity which you already know what happened so the game focuses on the how and the who while giving the game an interesting juxtaposition between high technology and low primitive societies. The game was a bit on the nose at times with its progressive tendencies but overall I enjoyed that title as well. Also I dont see anything inherently wrong with progressive tenants, just when they are poorly written in. They could've really explored more character crisis like if Aloy couldnt be sure if her personality is an effect of where she is derived or was it a result of being raised outside of the embrace of the tribe by Rost, or both?
I only just recently played W3 and I enjoyed it as well even if the saving mechanism and scripting were a bit lacking, corrupted saves and quests that will never end because a hook missed part of the script that allowed the rest of the quest to continue. Im well aware though that CD Project Red hadnt made anything like that on that level so I enjoyed the story considering its from an actual book to begin with.
HellBlade: Senua's Sacrifice is rather simple, but the combat is so satisfying that I dont understand why, maybe the weight of the sword or the simple mechanics of it. You explore was is essentially a widow who had chosen to go in the forest to confront her failings and attempt to rise on top. Its a hyper focused story of a woman in the Celtic society confronting the death of her lover, the failings of her father and she can stand apart from it. An underrated Gem imho.
Mass Effect was great too of course, I feel they got lazy at the end but it doesnt negate the experience up to that point. Its unfortunate that none of the talent that made ME (or bioware for that matter) are present anymore. However they have been making another dev team. I think its called archetype, which is a suitable dev name.JRE84 likes this. -
Been playing BF since 2, and have always enjoyed them, but I don't have the time to dedicate to them to get good enough to not get spanked every time.
So I look forward to getting spanked in the new BF game. -
So many gameplay leaks around
. Game looks good, im super hyped now

Hopefully this one wont be a buggy mess -
I don't normally disagree with you krabman but remember bad company 2 and bf 3/4 they all had campaigns and they were some of the best for a fps...they ditched it in bf 1 because people were crazy about the multiplayer.....they decided to put 99 percent effort into making the multiplayer the best it can be and as far as popularity goes on the pc side. I don't believe they are playing catch up with COD who is now just copying PUBG with warzone(battle royale).....campaigns should be 80 bucks and multiplayer should be free....they know this...halo infinite multiplayer will be free to play and I would not be suprised if all the other studios followed suite
