This stuff has started popping up all over the internet about a possible battlefield 3. My god I hope its true! No this is not Battlefield: bad Company (it seems)

Correct me if I am wrong, but is this old news?

I wonder if the 8600mGT will handle this at decent settings, but its still too early to say,,,=/ sounds good though

 

I'm so excited. I've always loved the battlefield series for their gameplay incentives, and extensive teamwork capability....but not so much for their buggy design, and somewhat unresponsive patch/support features. Fix those, and i think they'll double their players

 

This should be good. 80 players on 1 server. Pwns xbox live and PS3 online for sure.

 

Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2, and 2142 I've own them all. Lets just hope Battlefield 3 will be less arcade and more like Project Reality mod.

 

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising had 75 vs 75 on massive maps with games types assault/capture/defend game modes that could last for well over four hours.

I am still waiting for a new FPS game to top that, without bots.

 

I always kind of thought Joint Operations kind of sucked though. Yeah it had huge battles, and it didn't really lag...too much, but just something wasn't fun about it....

BF3 will hopefully not be broken like the others.

 

good news if its on the way, always loved battlefield games and spent many many hours on them right from day 1, the desert combat mod for 1942 was incredible,then battlefield 2 came out and was and still is an awsome awsome game, you dont get problems onnthem if your machine can run them full bore

i just installed battlefield 2 on this new machine the other day and it runs awsome, ive downloaded the 1.41 patch and im good to go again

ive played cod4 online for afew hours this week,and its just awful , the maps are way to small for lots of players, and i just find its way to hectic and your lucky to go 2mins without getting shot coz its just so ram jammed, too many spawn killers, i just found it a bit crazy


battlefield 2 kicks arse ovber cod4 online, for me you cant beat flying round in the choppers with a mate on the gun , and just the all round brilliance of that game online

also....what mods are good on bf2 ? ive never really bothered with the mods but used to play loads of them on bf1

 

cod4 online is awesome on the 360 and ps3,I don't know about the pc but its easily one of the best games of the year for consoles.

 

ohhh, agreed. ive just finished playing the first level on single player and it had me loving it. the multi player was a bit irritating for same reasons as any FPS. too many people taking advantage and being idiots (e.g shooting through walls at spawn points)

at any rate. it was well worth the money.

but i think id still go for battlefield 2 over both BF2142 and COD4 simply beacuse the first time i used the helicopter i was laughing like an 8year old on speed!!!

 

Hey I actually liked 2142...

 

Battlefield 2 was ok.

I just didn't like the gameplay too much, it was really cool at first and I got superb at it.

But I just didn't get the rush that Counter Strike: Source, Halo games,call of duties, and stuff of the sort did.

Battlefield 2, Enemy territory, and all the games like that just lack skill required sometimes.

If battlefiled 3 is good, I will really pick it up

 

I agree. Great idea, medicore game. Not necessarily bad, just you need to be better then that for success.

As for BF3, let's be honest, I'd probably get it anyway, regardless of what it's about. But I really wish they'd go somewhere else with it. WWII revisted would be my dream, but even another conflict would be a nice change. Korean, WWI, etc.

anyone ever playy co-op on bf vietnam ? me and my mate used to link up on lan, put the number of vc right up to stupid numbers and intelegence down, so it would run ok

then basicly is was me and my mate were like rambo and col trautman in a jungle with hundreds and hundreds of viet cong all over the place and we used to hole up in somewhere and just fend them of for as long as we could,it was brilliant ! and the level with the graveyard on top of the hill was unreal ! i might even get the game back on this machine and see what tis like now days, with the power of this machine i think it would be pretty good to have all the vc and intelegence up a bit !

 

If you want Vietnam co-op, Vietcong 2 is the king

 

deffo agree. ive come to realise that the only game that has ALWAYS been on any computer ive ever owned was counter strike.

i actually played the first half life again and it was so engaging....

is it me or are games starting to be quite soul less...i dont find myself reminiscing about new games as i do about older ones. maybe in due time. but when a good games comes along (like gears of war) i find myself wanting to play it again more then say ( bioshock ) even though bioshoc

i really hope BF3 knocks me off my chair!

 

I hope its set in modern time or something of the past but please dear god not 50 years into the future.

I hope they get the server browser sorted out....its been crap in every BF game....so slow, un responsive, takes ages for server to be selected after you click on it, when you refresh for the new list you get 2000 hits then you refresh again and you only get 500...

Gameplay shouldnt be altered that much, they should keep the bf2142 unlock system and build on that as it was much better than your standard unlock of only primary weapons..something like call of duty 4 mixed with bf2142 ranking would be great and they should have vehicles of each sort, not like bf2142 where they missed out the jets, maybe add a few more gameplay modes.

Commander shouldnt be given a ****load of resources or too much power as noobs keep abusing it. BF2 now is packed with retards killing you and changing teams for vehicles. Servers have rules such as dont artillery capped bases or dont tk for vehicles but apparently they dont apply to those servers members...they can do whatever the f**k they want. Then youve got those a**es who become commander and all they do is artillery and artillery on your capped bases without getting banned, your teammates also suck as when your second seat in a chopper and the pilot sees a free jet they imediately jump out leaving you to die unless youre high up in the air or have good reflexes....very frustating this game has become now.

Another thing not specific to bf series but to games running punkbuster in general....pb is now a piece of sh*t before it used to be great at keeping cheaters out....it still does that now but it does even more annoying things such as will kick you out for using widescreen in non-widescreen games, kick you out for having edited your game so as to remove the movies in the beggining, added certain commands to the console to improve lag and your pings.....its just a freaking nuissance now

 

i own tf2, cod4, and bf2/2142 ... after playing them over the past couple weeks, i have to say that bf series still packs a punch that the other games cant achieve. the large maps are what make it stand out.

thats ffor battlefield bad company which is geared toward a more campaign singl player game rather than the bf series multiplayer on the PC... bad company will not be coming to PC
