Battlefield 3 @ $9 ONLY!

Before anyone buyes it: Mass Effect 3 on Yuplay is Russian only (at least by default).
I just purchased the Deluxe Edition and tried it out.

Battlefield 3 is okay, that has English too like I said it in the OP.

I bought the BF3 extended edition and it only has russian. However I googled an english patch tweak and it works now. Except I can't even get past the cutscene freeze for Operation Swordbreaker in campaign >.<... I guess only play multiplayer for now. Anyone else having problems with the campaign? Another google search shows me that campaign seems to be buggy as hell and it's not related to me having a russian edition.

They also have Max Payne 3 for around $15 USD (499.04 RUB)? But I'm guessing it's probably only Russian.

 

Most games are on Russian and there is basically nothing you can do about it.

Yea, expesially that the Battlefield 3 Premium is only $30 (EUR 25), so the total price I had to pay was $39 for Battlefield 3 base game+Premium

 

I just successfully purchased the standard edition (because I thought it was the international version) and it turns out it is the Russian-only version anyway. Perhaps this has changed in the last day since others were reporting being able to download the international version. It does clearly say "Russian only" on the product page (in Russian, of course). Just a heads up. For $9 I'll either deal with the foreign language or find a patch - not a huge deal.

 

really? i bought mine yesterday, it was international. i am playing in english. i dont speak russian, so i based it off what other people said and bought it

 

Perhaps it will give me the option to install another language when I'm finished downloading, but at least when I entered my key it said "Russian language version," unlike the screenshots on the first page. Also, it clearly (well, clearly in a language I don't speak, haha) on the product page that it's Russian only. Will update when I'm finished downloading shortly.

 

u can go to battlelog.battlefield.com and log in and you should be able to change your language. thats how i did mine

 

This only changes the language displayed in battlelog, not the in-game language.

Indeed the download via Yuplay is [as of now] for the Russian-only version of the game. However, it is very easy to patch this version to use English instead. The appropriate files are available online through a simple Google search. Everything seems to be working exactly as I expected after ~1 hour of multiplayer. I did not test the campaign.

All said and done, I'd say the $9 price tag was well worth the extra 30 minutes I spent patching in a different language. Origin displays "Battlefield 3" in my game library with a funny looking 3, but otherwise I don't see any issues using this version of the game. I'm guessing most people here already have BF3, but if you don't and you're tempted by the price, go for it.

Yes, this is evidently due to the June 4 patch released by EA. There is a second English language patch that you can apply that will correct this problem. When you unpackage both of the .rar files (the first one you applied, and the second one you need to correct the black screen), make sure you copy the contents to the BF3 install directory and merge the folders/overwrite files when prompted. Do not copy/paste the files individually to their respective folders. If you don't merge the files as I have instructed, you will lose in-game voices and possibly some other sounds.

I did this at first, but all I had to do to recover my voice sounds was merge the entire contents of the .rar file with my BF3 directory. I have played a couple hours now without a single hitch. However, as stated earlier, I haven't tried campaign and others have reported some problems there.

 

Anyone who has problem with the Russian language can try to contact EA on the Live chat support (Origin client must be in English US) and ask them to change the game language from Russian to English. If you are lucky and if you get a kind support assistant, than he WILL change the language. (However there are support assistants who will not help and only suggest to contact the shop and there are some who don't even know that they can change the language).

What don't you get? If it's the language that's the issue, use Chrome browser and translate the page to English.

 

so i finally got access to a CC. is the game still being sold in russian or did they switch back to international/english?

 

If you buy the one I linked, even if it is a Russian key, you can ask EA Origin live chat assistant to change it to English (like I said, there might be assistants who will not help you, but there will be who will).

 

Does anyone know if we buy this version, would the future and present DLC work with it? Or would we need some kind of international version of the DLC?

 

You can buy and use the DLCs just like with any version of the game.

Just for some clarification would we try this after we already activated the Russian key on Origin? Or should we ask before activation.

When we ask the live chat assistant would be something like "I have the game activated in Russian, Can you switch it to English?" Just want to know what exactly should be asked.

I assure this is a %100 legitimate website and I've been using their patches since release.

 

I suggest not registering and asking the assistant for help because Origin only offers Russian language at activation and ask him if he can help you.

 

I felt unsafe using my CC so I went to CVS to buy a pre-paid debit card for $25 and when I try to purchase the game with it, it tells me it is not allowed (or something along those lines).

Ridiculous.

 

I am going to try this russian to english patch.

 

I bought it yestarday and patched it, but my game is making an echo sound, like when I shoot it hears like if I am shooting from inside a cavern, anyone is experiencing the same issue? Other than that the game is working fine...

Also I have tried to contact EA (Origin) to change my version to English wth two representatives and both said they can't do anything, anyone to report on that like name of rep that did it or how he did it?

 

My game is unable to launch after applying the steps in the patch from Russian to English...

 

not sure if you have some problem as i do, but i am not able to start it everytime neither. i have to try a few times to start it. If it doesnt launch on first try, you have to end bf3.exe in task manager and then try launch again on battlelog.battlefield.com. i keep on doing it until it launches. i have international version from yuplay.com, so i am not 100% sure if its same problem

Ok just reporting back... I uninstalled it (actully deleted and searched on win reg since this damm game doesn't uninstall by itself) and installed again and the echoes are gone.... Anyone about the replacement through Origin? cheers

I would like to know what brand of credit cards work though, so I'll be prepared and won't run into problems in the future. Are people using Capital One, Chase, Citi, etc (Visa or Mastercard versions)?

Also is their foreign transaction fees applied to these purchases?
