I would love to get into BF3 but EA still hasn't responded to my Crysis Warhead issue emails. If they don't fix that, I will never buy an EA product again.

I love MW though and will probably buy it.

MW games are too much run and gun, I hate how little the game has improved over the years..

I've never played a BF game, BF3 will be my first and I am looking forward to it immensely.

I'll probably go for MW3, as I'm kinda a run 'n gun kinda guy. I don't play that often, and CoD is easy to hop on and play.

But, I will definitely wait until it's on sale.

Agreed, lets not make this MW3 vs. BF3, there are way to many of those thread around.

I have been a hardcore COD fan since cod4 but I'm getting bored with the series. I WAS more excited about MW3 (even though I really like the battlefield series), but once I saw that nothing super new or interesting was being added to mw3, and seeing the jets/dogfights in bf3, I changed my mind. It seems like dice and sledgehammer are REALLY working tovmake bf3 an epic game. I wouldn't be suprised if it gets recognized as the best fps ever.

It just seems like the devs of bf3 are working hard with new ideas, and the devs of mw3 aren't working as hard and have run out of good new ideas.

Don't get me wrong. I believe both of these games are going to be great. I just feel like bf3 is going to take the #1 spot here. The close underdog always fights harder than the champion who's held the title for several years. Infinity ward got comfortable and complacent while dice set their goals to take that #1 spot.

You can't really compare the two. I believe BF3 will be the better game because it's like 5 years (or however many) in the making? Only reason CoD series got so boring is because they churn out a new one every year and it gets so stale.

BF3 all the way, although according to this American Pre-Order Chart, MW3 seems to be winning, though most of these pre-orders are from consoles.

    Time Line:

    Call of Duty 4 < World at War < Modern Warfare 2 < Black Ops < MW3

How good is the game? (ignoring the fact that they should be getting better because each game marks a technological starting point for the next game)

    ??MW3?? < Black Ops < WaW < Modern Warfare 2 < Call of Duty 4

the trend isn't looking good. The games rate in nearly reverse chronological order for me. Given MW3's development issues (the lead producers were fired, most of the rest of the team quit shortly thereafter. literally.) i wouldn't be surprised if MW3 turns out worse than black ops.

Both, I've played both series since their very first incarnations and I still consider both games on different planes, althought they are the same genre.
BF has been always immersive, gigantic, and geared toward squad based gameplay, long sessions which sometimes makes me ehxausted but satisfied even with negative ratio.

COD has been for me always the incarnation of Arcade FPS. Is less impegnative and deep compared to BF, its more fast and rapid, easily accessible for those pickup and play sessions without too much thinking.
Both styles grown up in me and I can play both without too much issues, either with realism oriented mechanic or arcadeish.

Just my 2 cents, plus I'll get both for $39 with preorder which is a bit more than a boxed version.

..plus Im a sucker for COD campaign and it's cinematic/movie style, the story always kept me going on, I didn't felt immersive enough BC2 story thought, I found it boring, short and disconnected compared to MW1 and 2.

Do you mean disatisfied or with a decreasing satisfaction level as time goes on? :p

I voted neither since that subgenre (military-style FPS) doesn't attract me.

It's more military themed than military style. Especially for call of duty. You're running around shooting faster than the fastest man on earth.

Call of duty could play exactly the same, but with space aliens and laser beams, and zombies. Oh yeah, they do that.

Battlefield has some degree of military style in the game in addition to the theme. Elements of focus include squad play, cover, suppressive fire, armored air and ground vehicles, choosing complementary classes among your squad (the best squads will include a mix of classes, potentially one of each of the 4 primary classes, to be able to handle any situation).

Call of duty is more about running and gunning, kill streaks, perk choice, leveling up to unlock the good weapons and perk bonuses, "going rambo", individual performance, KD ratio.

    Just my 2 cents.

Both, actually, but with more expectations and enthusiasm for BF3 and none for MW3 (less chances of disappointment).

This poll should be based more on hype and popularity rather than actual game mechanics... they are a bit different (especially multi-player). :D

    My vote for BF3.

Man, the polls were obvious from the start, there's like at least 3 threads talking about Battlefield 3 around here. Not to say it's overrated, but I didn't think a poll was completely necessary.

Anyways, I'm all for BF3, it's just the core concept of full-scale combat that overwhelms MW3.
