Invitations have been sent out for a Battlefield 4 event to take place in San Francisco California on March 26th at the 2013 Game Developers Conference.

Invitations say "Please join us to celebrate a new era of Battlefield."

EA is planning on releasing a beta for Battlefield 4 sometime during Fall.

There is also speculation that EA and DICE may announce Battlefield: Bad Company 3 at their Battlefield 4 event.

Lol, lets see if they make meaningful changes.

Don't play bf3 much coz in general I don't buy DLC on principle (only dlc I've bought was for Relic in my hope that they stay afloat), and vanilla bf3 maps aren't played at all; but last I played vehicle handling was in general pretty crap.

Wait. EA announced that Battlefield would be a standalone name now, replacing both Battlefield and Bad Company franchises. In all honesty, other than the single player campaigns, which are decent, but far from worth the price of admission, there's not a whole lot different between the two franchises. They basically merged BF and BC in BF3.

Well I would assume both use the same engine but both too are unique in their own sort of way. One depicts a recent/current theater of events(BF3) whilst the other (BC) has a more Vietnam theater feel to it.
I am looking forward to this announcement. Bring it on I say.

ok I am a weirdo because of what I will say now :) I actually liked the BF3 single player campaign. I would be happy if they continued the BF3 campaign (for some reason I didn't like the BC campaigns :( )

Loved the BC campaigns, mainly for their humour. I'm a pretty avid Battlefield fan though so this bit of news (albeit small) has me excited.

I didn't order Medal of Honor to get early access to the BF4 Beta: How is it? Is it similar to BF3, sort of like how MW3 was to MW2?

No kidding. That still bugs me to this day. And can they PLEASE fix line of sight? I mean really, bullets magically go through rocks and hills too...

They really wanted to make a game based on the movie "Wanted"

Rubber banding hasn't been so bad for me. But I know it affects some people.

I don't like how snipers can get their whole body in a wall in the corner and you can't see them. That's unrealistic...and quite annoying. But I'm sure snipers love it. You get killed and all you see is a sniper's gun sticking out of a rock...

Everybody hates the hiding snipers anyway, I always play aggressive sniper with 4x zoom (bunny). Kill those idiots with that, it is so funny :)

And that's when I knife those snipers... so funny to see them rant afterwards.

Speeking of hiding snipers, sometimes you see only legs hanging out of the wall :) Free kill, but cheap. Then they'll call you a wallhacker ...

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IhXdaH6jdJY?hl=en_US&amp;version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IhXdaH6jdJY?hl=en_US&amp;version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='640' height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Anyway, I can't wait to see how the new battlefield, will look and play. For me battlefield 3 was one of the best, and most played games in my personal history, even with those bugs...

The Event is only minutes away from starting....7PM San Francisco Time.

Already there's been a few Battlefield 4 screenshots posted online and a Battlefield 4 Poster show a Fall 2013 release.

EDIT:EA reveals Battlefield 4 headed to PC this fall

The fall 2013 window is currently unconfirmed, but we won’t have to wait long to find out if it’s correct.

Per a listing on EA's digital store, Battlefield 4 is headed to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in addition to the PC. PlayStation 4 is curiously missing, as is mention of Microsoft's next-gen game console.

To me, still looks like BF3 with more lens flare.

There is a torpedo in the sea battle video.. I think naval warfare is coming with BF4.

The explosion (when the chopper fires at the RU squad towards the end of the gameplay, the big one) looks better than real :D Except for some better effects / simulation / textures it is very very similar to BF3 graphics-wise, still I am curious to play the single player :)

1942 to BF2 was quite a big jump and so was BF2 to BF3. BF3 to BF4 though, isn't looking too good. I agree that it definitely looks and feels like it should be an expansion

At least, Premium BF3 got the BF4 beta access as indicated on your Origin BF3 Profile.

A DICE rep replied it will be in Fall 2013 after the Summer 2013 typo.
