Awesome deal here, just placed my order.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the PC pre-order through Barnes & Noble but I guess they're affiliated with Gamestop. Anyway my total was $24.54 after tax and $3 shipping.
BFBC2 B&N Pre-order link
I don't know if my future M11x can handle this at all considering the beta, but good price I can't pass up. Figure I can wait for some benchmarks and if it doesn't work, I can resell. Can't hurt since I should get the pre-order bonuses.
Only concern is given the price, it may be a mistake and our orders may not get finalized. Who knows though, only took me a bout 2 min to sign up and order =)

Whoa! Cool thanks! at that price, I'll bite! I just hope it's not the Strategy Guide or something silly like that instead of the game. But everything says its the game.
-
Ridiculous, shipping cost to canada is nearly 2x the price of the game, would save me time and money just buying it here.
34.99 for shipping + 19.99 for the game ~ 55 USD
Good deal if you are in the US though -
i purchased it. i really hope this isn't a mistake and end up charging me full price.
-
ha, I can't help but think that is a strategy guide... but didn't research further, so may be the real game!
-
It's funny because it's being sold by Gamestop and $19.95 puts it cheaper than Battlefield 2...
-
-
Yeah, I agree, appears to be the game... and the limited edition is $49.99 for whatever reason... very odd and must be an error, but rock it out while you can!
-
Maybe they feel people will pony up the coin for the Limited Edition for $50 to get the six unlocks. But I bet with 50 hours of play you can get those unlocks anyhow. And if the price was a mistake I'm sure they'd either cancel the order or contact you asking you if you'd like to get it at the actual price.

We won't know until it ships. Unlike Steam, they don't charge until the item actually ships.
-
Man I hope this is true because that is one hell of a great deal! But I kind of want to get it on steam due to me always losing disc...
edit: Just order 3 copies, one for me and my friends. All three copies are cheaper than one MW2... -

i preordered MW2 for $40... don't know why everyone thinks it was so expensive...

It's a netbook, not a gaming machine, even if it costs $1000 and has an Alienware logo on it. -
I have heard that the cpu can be oc'd to 1.7ghz, and that will definitely help alot. -
Very nice find! Didn't want to buy any other games any time soon, but I can't pass this deal up
-
-
Also, I thought I read somewhere that EA's new DRM policy for this game is a simple online key registration and you're good to go, no disc needed in drive. -
Deal's Over.
-
thanks. Out of stock haha
-
now all we can do is wait and see if our orders go through haha.
-
It seems like this was most likely a big mistake and I heard they will probably cancel the orders.
Who knows though, even if it was a mistake they might still let em go through or give some kind of compensation like some store credit (on top of the refund). -
If the Collector's Edition is $49.99, then the regular version shouldn't cost more than $39.99. Maybe they'll give it to us for $34.99, with free shipping would be nice, but wouldn't be half bad either. After the beta though, I wouldn't spend $50 on this game. -
-
I used my PayPal debit/credit card (get ~ 1% back with every purchase using it as credit) and it deducted the amount from my balance. So to me that's charged. Maybe if it was a direct PayPal transaction it may just be placeholder.
Either way they could just honor it, depending on the number of orders placed, and change the price from here on out. I'd much rather just get the game for $25 with tax and shipping than for $45 with tax and shipping and a $10 gift card. -
agreed. But to add about your debit card thing, just recently I used my debit card to charge M11x from Dell and the amount was deducted from my bank account, but two days later, put back. So I dunno =)

i got an email from barnes & noble saying my item is scheduled to ship.
Thank you for shopping with us.
Just so you know, your PC & Video Game order will ship directly to you from GameStop, and they expect to ship it to you on the date below. And as always, your credit card will not be charged until your order has left the warehouse."
looks like it might go through. -
Same here:
-
=) got the same email
-
-
Uhhh, I just got a $5 online Barnes & Noble / Gamestop gift card. Either they will cancel the order with this as compensation, or this deal is getting better all the time. LOL. What's next, a free PC.
-
yeah same here. doesn't say anything about cancellation of order so i still got my hopes up.
-
Me too. I figured it be followed quickly by a cancellation email. So far so good. Maybe it was a promotion we weren't aware of. Buy a game from Gamestop through Barnes & Noble, get a $5 gift card, just to create awareness. Who know?
-
ughhhh out of stock...
-
awesome also got a $5 gift card haha and it was from [email protected] too bad it's only usuable online at B&N. I could prob find something. Now let's hope our orders stick.
-
-
-
some people are reporting cancellations on another forum, I have yet to receive an email though. Anyone here?
-
ahhhhh i got it, lame. maybe they just didn't have enough and had to cancel some orders?
-
lol I just got it haha figured =) I got $5 for my troubles though oh well!
-
it was too good to be true
. I wonder if anyone is going to be disciplined for this mistake?
-
Cancelled here too.
Dang! Took them long enough. It said it was a canceled product. ? Maybe they only have the Limited Edition and nothing else. I'm surprised Steam isn't doing a discount on a 4-pack like they usually do. Although EA probably didn't want to go for that. I'm just not ready to spend $50 on this game the way it stands.
-
NOOOOOO!!!!!!! In Darth Vader voice.... Yea I got the cancel email too. Such a sad day today...

I smell a class action lawsuit, lmao!

was curious how this would turn out... did seem too good to be true, but I was rooting for you guys!

honestly, Bad Company 2 isn't worth the $23 in the condition it is in... -
Check info on latest patch:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=460634
Seems they did some optimizations that make it dual-core friendly. -
There is little doubt that Bad Company 2 is no different than any other FPS, 3rd person shooter being released. It's a console port optimized for the 360 with half assed optimization for PC.
I just don't think EA cares about PC anymore. I suppose would make sense from development point of view. PC requirements, DX10, 11 constantly changing whereas 360 remains the same for years and will stay the same for another 4-6 years. And more and more people are discovering same thing, buy console for $300, keep for 6-10 years vs spend $400-500 every year for PC. Also far less chance of your game being hacked and pirated on the console.
Yeah...
Battlefield Bad Company 2 PC $23 shipped + tax
