    The purpose of this thread is to list and rate the servers you play on. Ping response will vary based upon your location. We will divide server areas based upon Central, Eastern and Western US. Servers will be rated based on Balancing, Punkbuster, Administration (kicking cheaters and Team Killers) and overall experience. Since ping responses will be based on location I dont feel this is a valid criteria to judge a server.

    ***Remember HC servers will usually have HC in the name since the icon system doesn't work correctly!***

    SERVER---LOCATION---BALANCING--PUNKBUSTER---ADMIN---OVERALL

    TEXAS HELL ~ HC 24/7--SC--B--PB--N---Not Recommended [Spawn Killing Allowed]

    Shacknews Dallas EFF YEAH HC--SC--B--PB--Y--Recommended [Good]

    S/G conquest/hardcore 24/7 --SC--B--PB--Y--Recommended [Great Server, Sniper Friendly]

    57 Squadron --SC--B--PB--Y--Recommended [Non HC Server]

    TX_Black Ops Hardcore--SC--B--PB--N--Not Recommended [spawn killing, no admin, lack of cohesion.. BAD SERVER]

    TRU GRIT CLAN HC SERVER--SC--B--NPB--N--Not Recommended [Spawn Killing, no admin, confirmed cheating.. BAD SERVER]

    KEY
    SC = SOUTH CENTRAL US
    NC = NORTH CENTRAL US
    SE = SOUTH EASTERN US
    NE = NORTH EASTERN US
    SW = SOUTH WESTERN US
    NW = NORTH WESTERN US
    PB = PUNKBUSTER
    NPB = NO PUNKBUSTER
    B = BALANCING
    NB = NO BALANCING
    Y = YES
    N = NO
    [] SERVER NOTES WILL BE PLACE IN BRACKETS.

    Played on a couple of really bad servers tonight. The lack of an admin on server makes a huge difference. One guy went 15-0... in the first map on rush. Of course when confronted on chat, several culprits make the usual excuses you here... "its skill, it's blah blah blah... I have two specific examples of blatant cheating for TG Clan, an rpg was fired into a group of 3 people, with direct hit. Not one died. Not one... Second example was two people with backs turned and a team mate approached from rear, fired full clip of g36 into each. Not one death.

    To close... if you are on a server without an active admin, it can go bad. If you dont care and dont mind your rank then no worries. If you are playing with friends and want a good experience, avoid these servers like the plague.

    To be fair, 15-0 isn't unreasonable on a public server, where most people you'll meet are noobs. Back when I played MW1, I'd get +30:2 or something crazy like that on certain maps when I can keep getting airstrikes in succession. It's been a lot harder for me in BC2 (breaking even is a good round for me lol), but a I can see how a couple of well placed and well timed mortars can get you 15-0 plausibly.

    15-0 isn't unreasonable but if you are anywhere near useful, ie planting charges, defusing, reviving people, you won't get there.

    Yeah 15-0 is kinda high, but like mew1838 says, k/d doesn't mean everything. There's more to do than just kill people...well, unless it's deathmatch :)

    I have a horrible k/d partly due to my skill and partly due to bad luck with hit detection. 40mm at someones feet, empty a clip into them, then a few good hits with a handgun and they kill me with one shot and have over 50% health.

    15-0 is high but possible. And I wouldn't call it skill, I'd call it being a useless nub. Those who have such high K/D do nothing to help the team to win the battle, just looking out to pad their scores.

    Luckily I've seen some servers where they kick you for padding your stats which encourages everyone to PLAY and go for OBJECTIVES to WIN.

    all - 15-0 wasn't his or her final score...that was just on the first map.. the final score was outrageos. 42-3. I was completely surprised to see the 3 deaths.

    I hated that server. I really did. The guys were trying to insult me and I flat out told them I dont care about my k/d. I am no expert player nor do I need the prestige. I care about game dynamics, flow, fun, teamwork, attitude, etc... and it stunk... True Grit and Texas Hell are both very bad.

    Also please know I try the servers a few times. I dont just hop on once and give them the slam. Usually it is 3 to 4 matches sometimes several matches, hop off a bit and then back on.

    I encourage others to offer server opinions as well.. we can add them to the main entry.

    BW,

    I really wish that after we add a server to favorites, the list of all the servers you just searched for won't disappear. This is part of why I haven't been adding servers to favorites.

    Has anyone also noticed this happening to them:
    You search for hardcore servers only and get a list of servers. When you then enter the server about a minute or two later, it's in regular mode. This happens even when I look up the server info right before I join. And it's not a matter of them switching to normal mode right before I join because they're in the middle of a round.
