Tweak guide: Bad Company 2 tweaks

In the game's settings.ini file there is some settings regarding sound quality. In default settings, it is set to "low."

According to the tweak guide posted above, setting this to "high" requires a high-end processor.
When I change it to "high" I don't notice any difference in sound quality compared to the default "low" setting and I also don't notice any (negative) difference in performance as I probably should experience. I'm assuming the change is not registering or something.

    What should I do?

I messed with that a few times and never really noticed a difference in sound quality or performance. My guess is it has no effect.

I find the sound quality just fine on default....actually it's really good imho. Have you been having any sound problems?

I just defaulted to high because I have an i7, but I never checked to see how much of a difference there is.

I have no clue what setting I played on.

I have a feeling that its not very intensive but a matter of having the right hardware to handle what ever is happening.

Chances are with a nice card like the X-FI or a DAC that having High is fine and wont cause issues, but if you have some small basic onboard chip that it cause issues.

I am not having any sound problems, I just thought changing the sound setting to "medium" or "high" would further increase the sound quality but it didn't.

That SpeakerCount is related to how many speakers you have. If it is set to "0" it simply uses the default setting in Windows in regards to how many speakers you have.
