it looked so beautiful! I decided to give this game a try!![]()
Has anyone out there ever tried FLight Simulator X on a 4670? Or a compareable Notebook to the one in my Sig?
Also, what are your general opinions about this game?
thanks for your input!

A fast CPU is the most important thing to get FSX running well.
Also the game is great (once patched to SP2), it's Microsoft Flight Simulator, there is no other simulation game more popular. -
We benched that game and a faster CPU gets the best results. Check my sig for the results (Quad vs Core2Duo). You should be able to run that game at medium but only after the patches. The patches doubled my frame rates. I also noticed significantly higher frame rates when I changed to DirectX10 mode when compared to DirectX9.

Seeing the thread title I thought this would be about some new simulator. Oh well.

Im able to run the gfx settings on the highest setting on my laptop. but i have to turn off air traffic and ground scenery details to almost off because of my CPU.
Here are some screen shots takin off FSX using my laptop with an ATI X1800. If i can get gfx like that im sure the 4670 is going to do better.
FSX
note: the aircraft featured in my un-edited creen shots that i took are of 3rd party aircraft.

Just medium settings? Damn! I can play FSX 2004 with everything set to max and 4AA just fine!
I wouldnt mine to turn things like Airtraffic down though, or shadows.
Well! I will give it a shot and comment back once I got the game and Global 2008 Installed. -
Your 757 is running the ram air turbine... Did you lose Engines and APU power?!?
Sorry, the pilot voice in my head got me there...
Those are some nice graphics. Now I want FS X. -

FSX is a good piece of software, but even on a powerful system, it's got performance issues, even when patched. I still enjoy it though, and I need to download some of the Ace Combat 3 planes this one guy created for FSX and FS2004. They are so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.......................
Beautiful Flight Simulator
