Yeah, definetly Sony VAIO.
But what's the point of this thread .. o.o -
Well, only if gaming is a lower concern.
9600m GT is a bit low-end for laptops of this price range.
The Acer can have 9700m GT, but once again in this price range you can pick up the Gateway with a 9800m GTS which will completely destroy the options here. -
I don't think they are very good on the performance.
-
dont like the choices myself either.

Big enough screen for you?

The GPUs are not what I`d call performance and gaming, but then again , I spoiled myself with high end systems always...

How about a studio xps 16?

You might want to try having a look at these notebooks in person first before you actually buy it. There's a store near my house that displays the Acer 8930, and gosh, it feels like an absolute cheap piece of crap, and the keyboard has way too much flex. You can depress the entire middle section of the keyboard by several millimeters just by pressing down the keys. And well, yea, it just looks cheap and feels cheap. (Have I said that yet?)

No less than HD4850 for serious gaming! Sick of those 9600 rebranded 9800M, we all know how bad the 9600 GT are vs other desktop GFX..
