what is the concensius re paying for bench mark software or using the free one,

I have a new Alienware 15R3 gtx1060 and have various mods I’m going to fit, but just want to benchmark Along-the way and hopefully see some gains, but once done I prob will just get on with playing my games etc,

Was going to get 3D mark just wasn’t sure if it was worth paying for it, for the 4 or 5 times I’m going to use it over the next week

You can catch 3dMark on sale for around 4 bucks through Steam every once in a while. I bought it and use periodically. I wouldn't have paid the full price for it though, as I wouldn't use it enough to justify it.
