    What do you mean criteria?

The 7950GTX is much more powerful then the 7900GTX, so obviously there will be a difference.

By criteria I believe you mean programs?

A few you can try for benchmarking are:
    PCMark 2005
    3DMark 2005
    3DMark 2006
    SuperPI

and as Coriolis said yes it will make a difference ofcourse..

no i meant will a change in processor or ram or GPU or something like that affect the benchmark results????? and is the nVidia Quadro thing usable for gaming?? will that card give a higher benchmark result than 7950GTX??? and what does PCMark determine???

Yes, RAM , Processor and GPU all contributes to the performance of a PC (measured by various benchmarks). However the degree each component affect a particular benchmark score depends on what you are benchmarking (testing).

For example if you run a graphics benchmark (like 3D mark, Aqua mark or a game) GPU is the deciding factor, however processor,RAM even the motherboard chipset type along with hard disk performance contributes in small amounts. But if you benchmark office productivity, audio/video encoding performance or some similar CPU intensive application, then the CPU will determine the score, RAM and other components also help however GPU has next to no importance in such case.

So it really depends on what you are benchmarking (testing).
Quadro series is intended for professional graphics designers and it normally has better OpenGL performance. Therefore if you run an OpenGL benchmark it will most likely perform better than a comparable non Quadro card. However if you are interested in gaming, non Quadro cards are generally cheaper and performs better in Direct X.

Depends on what Quadro card you are comparing. I don’t know much about Quadro cards (correct me if I’m wrong) but I think its safe to say that for DirectX games 7950GTX will give you better results.

Don't rely entirely on 3D benchmarks for measuring performance, because synthetic benchmarks like 3D mark does not always represent real word performance. Best is to compare frame rates of new 3D games.

PC Mark is an overall system benchmark suite. It tests every part in your PC and gives a standardized score (along with individual scores for each category).

Are you talking about desktop 7900GTX and 7950GTX? Or do you mean the notebookversions of those GPU's?
