No offense, but the fact that full sytem specs are missing makes it utterly meaningless.

You can tell its a poor system tho
barly over 1000 marks in 3dmark06 is really bad.
-
The 8600GT benchmark was done Core 2 Duo T7700 (2,4 GHz) and 2GB of RAM. I don't know about the rest, Wave, can you confirm that ?
-
The 8600GT is benchmark is from the Zepto 6625WD with GDDR2 (400mhz)
sorry about the tables. should be fixed now. -
That would be exactly my point. The Zepto is maxed out, we can only assume the other systems were less powerfull. So what are we comparing? How much difference is due to slower CPU, less RAM, slower RAM, non-Santa Rosa, HD, drivers, background programs,...
-
The total 3dMark score is hard to compare. The go7700 score comes from a G1p with a T7200. 8600MGS is from an Asus F3SV. 8400M G score is from an Asus A8sc and the 8400M GS score from a Samsung R70.
SM 2.0 and SM 3.0 scores give a good indication of graphics performance. -
Was the 8600M GT stock speeds or underclocked? Also, The 8600M GS at stock speeds should yield a higher 3dmark06 score.
-
The 8600M GT was a GDDR2 version like you will find it in the new Zepto laptops and the Compal IFL90. I think the Acer Gemstone also. The 8600M GT with GDDR3 like you find in the Asus G1s will be faster.
The 8600M GS score is about the same as what GenTechPC got for his F3SV benchmarks. -
The F3SV is clocked at 500/400 when it should be 600/700 according to nvidias website...
-
I am not sure if you will ever find a GS clocked that high. An other 8600M GS that I have seen benchmarks for is in the Samsung R70 and it gets similar results to the F3SV. There was one benchmark of the LG R500 (also has a GS) and it also got about the same 3dMark score.

That's the benchmark from my laptop. The 8600M gs at 600/700 clock had a 3160 3dmark06 score and the card overclocked to 650/750 had a 3dmark06 of 3392. That is why I was wondering if the 8600M GT was underclocked, cause my OC score surpasses the 8600M GT score, which doesn't seem right at all.... unless it was at a different resolution, such as 1680x1050 or 1280x1024. Does the article say anything about resolutions? -
You cant compare those scores. The GT scores from the table are done at 1280x1024 which is the 3dmark06 default.
The GS scores from that thread were done at 1280x800 which was the maximum the screen could support.
At 1280x800 the GT scores about 3800 at stock clock. The Asus G1s with GDDR3 would score even higher. -
Yah, that's what I meant. There had to be a reason why those scores were so close together and it's because they were tested at different resolutions. Was the f3sv tested at 1280x1024 as well? Sorry for all these questions... I can't read german...
-
Hopefully all 3dMark06 scores are at 1280x1024. But I cant avouch for it.
-
You can compare the 8600GT scores to the 8600gs scores that max posted in another thread. There doesn't seem to be all that much of a difference once resolution and settings are turned up though.
8600gt - 32 SPs, 450core, 950shader, 700mem
8600gs - 16 SPs, 600core, 1200shader, 700mem
The GS has a lot higher clocks despite having less shaders. I'd really be interested to see a game like Quake 4, Half Life: Lost Coast, or Company of Heroes comparing these games at say 1650x1080 at medium-high settings.
But we obviously have to wait for more detailed results. -
I have a MacBook Pro, currently the 15.4" 2.4Mhz Core 2 Duo with 2GB Ram and the 8600M GT. With the default setting of 3D Mark '06 I got 4060 Marks.
-
Pls Colin DIRT and GF8400M GS (Dell XPS M1330)??
-
I received a 3D Mark 06 score of 3821 at 1280X1024 res and no AA.
-
mac book suck evidently
they only have you a 2.4mhz cpu
i thought those were EOL in 1980's -
Anything apple sucks. Like the iphone... did you know that you have to ship it to apple so they can replace its soldered battery?
-
What I would have liked to see is a 7900 in all of those. I wonder how it compares, exactly, to the 8600GT.
-
the 7400 score is too low. i get around 1100 for 3dmark06
-
I agree, results for Go7300 and Go7400 are way to low. Here's my result with Go7300 overclocked from 350/600 to 480/860 (= Go7400 stock, more or less) :
