Wondering what the best light racing sim is these days? I really like Rally games, but also enjoyed NFS: Porsche Unleashed back in the day. Haven't found much like it. Any recommendations?

F1 2013 is a good one - the best of the series IMO. Any or the grids if you want more of an arcade style.
Then there's my favorite, Project Cars, but that is anything but a light Sim.
A really fun racing game you might want to check out but is purely arcade, more like F-Zero is Distance.

Thanks. I tried Dirt Rally but OMG, It took me 10 minutes to complete a course that first place did in 3 minutes.... gah! I have an old Logitech MoMo wheel but should be sufficient for a game like Dirt Rally I would think!

Not balls-out sims, but something on the very thin line and obviously very rare breed between sim and arcade. NFS Porsche is perfect, and probably, the only example. Pro Street was trying to be there, but not quite. At least that's the feeling I got from it. Shift series was more towards sim, in my opinion.

Porsche is my favorite all time but it's aging and doesn't play well with new machines. I don't think it supports wide res either, but I may be wrong. I think I have it on DVD somewhere, but you can't buy it electronically that I can find either. But maybe I'll check out Pro Street and Shift.

Edit: found my *ahem* "alternate" version of Porsche Unleashed electronically but won't run on Win 8.1. And also ProStreet looks like it was consoles only.

Why can't EA make a sequel to NFS Porsche Unleashed? It was the all time best for the time and that same formula would work to day with updated physics and graphics. But this is EA we're talking about. I don't expect anything but mediocrity from them any more.

I'll vote with my money for that! They (EA) have rebooted pretty much EVERY single sub-title, but the Porsche one! WHY, EA, WHY?! Then again, most reboots are degrades of the originals, so I don't really know what I'm hoping for... Can you PM me a working version, please? I've searched all over the web and never made it to run properly. If there was a digital download version I would have bought it already.

BTW There's a ProStreet PC version.
