Assuming a 1600x900 resolution (because lower is amazingly commonplace sadness):

Are we all stuck in low settings mode in Crysis 2 barring a horrific pimple popping aleinware design? Maybe the new Z from sony? Heck, anyone know of a even a 14" with a 555M which is marginally better than anything I can find (550M in the Lenovo Y470 is closest) which is at least mediumish worthy.

I can wait a few months but really am I just missing something?

If only Alienware would try to assimilate a bit... :( or Sony stepup its GPU offerings

    14" Alienware M14x has a GT555M but at 6.5lbs outweighs other 15.6" systems like a 5.78lbs DV6TQE.
13" LG P330 will have a GT555M and IPS LCD.
    13/14" Sony SA/CA have a 900P LCD and HD6630M.

    Best bet atm is a 14" Lenovo Y470 with a GT550M + 900P LCD swapout, available in Quad-core+BD form for US$850.

What if screen res didn't matter? just screen quality? would the same notebooks still apply or are there some other ones to add to that list?

There is a version of the HP DV4 which has AMD 6750m graphics, but it's only released in certain countries.

Then probably the LG P330 is your best bet. It carries an IPS screen (as opposed to most notebooks, using TN panels). Sadly, it's not out yet.

    Hope this helps! :)
