8600m GT in the Asus F8sv, but with a crippled 64-bit interface.

8600m GT in several Asus (one has GDDR3 I think), Also 9500m GS, these are 14/14.1
I believe the LG has external optical drive.
Zepto has 8600m GT in a 14/14.1 also.
maybe one other can't remember right now.
If in the US Asus is the easiest and the most options I think one of the Asus w/9500m GS is only about $1,000. The 9500m GS is superior to the 8600m GT if they have the same type of memory. It is a die shrink 8600 w/ some increased functionality and power saving features.

I was bored so here are some links.

ASUS F8 Series F8SV-A1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T7500(2.20GHz) 14" Wide XGA 1GB+TM1GB Memory 160GB HDD DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT $999 Link

ASUS F8 Series F8Sn-B1 Intel Core 2 Duo T8100(2.10GHz) 14.1" Wide XGA 3GB Memory 250GB HDD DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS NoteBook $1,249 Link

    Asus F8Sn-C1 14.1" WXGA+/Penryn T9300 2.5 Ghz/GeForce 9500M GS 512MB/3GB/320GB/BT/WiFi-N/Vista $1,399 Link

Edit: OK Lithus and Crimmson understood. Thanks for the info.

Didn't know they made that in a 14 incher, but yes, that should be the equivalent of a GDDR3 clocked 8600m GT.

    1500? Can't be possible in any 8600, that's more of a 8400 score.

Anyways here is a F8Sv review from ExcaliburPC. The F8Sn with the 9500 GS should be faster than this.

Here is the Lenovo ThinkPad T61P with the Quadro FX 570M. Not quite 8600GT DDR3 scores.

Are you sure F8SVs have 64-bit 8600M GT? Mine is the 128-bit version.

a 9500gs with 512mb is basically equivalent to a 8600gt 256 mb gdrr 3 so asus has the storgest 14 inch note i would say

I don't know. Maybe I got the wrong computer, but one of them did.

Memory has nothing to do with it. The 9500m GS is the same as the 8600m GT in which there's two flavors of the card - a DDR2 clocked one and a GDDR3 clocked one. The one using DDR2 performs like the 8600m GT with DDR2, the one using GDDR3 performs like the GDDR3 8600m GT.

You must have been thinking of ASUS V2S.

ASUS F8S does have 128bit DDR2 8600GT. That being said, if price is no issue, MBP is actually lighter than F8S - and it has GDDR3 8600GT (not to mention having 15.4inch screen). ASUS F8 is very big and bulky for 14.1 inch laptop - measuring size of laptops by their screen size can sometimes be very misleading.
