What is the best GPU in a 15.4" notebook that won't fry my lap if I play games on it? Thanks, Peace.
Also, please give a name if you can think of any.

As of now its Nvidia 7700 with the current crop of laptops..
Would be probably taken over by the 8500/8600 when the Santa Rosa line up come.. -
as of now the best GPU in a 15.4 is in the asus G1 the nvidia go 7700
though it runs real hot
a notebook cooler is always an option with a powerful laptop of that sort -
At the moment, the ASUS G1p is the fastest 15.4" notebook with the 7700 Go.
-
Whats your price range? I mean the Asus lambo with the Go7700 is probably the most powerful but the almost 3 grand toped out is a bit much. As a slightly less expensive alternative the Asus F3JP with a X1700 goes for $1300 at newegg. The X1700 is just slightly less powerful than the Go7700 by like 100 3D Mark.

Its in the GPU Guide

Ok, thanks, that sounds good, but hot=bad and bad=hot.
-
Oh I forgot to mention that the X1700 seems to run a little cooler than the Go7700. I hear its because of some new sort of strained silicone they used in the card.
Another option is to just under clock the card a little when you are not playing any games. -
the x1700 is a remake or a modified version of the x1600 made from streched silicon to reduce power consumption as well as reduce heat
-
i would wait for santa rosa zepto 6625.. 14'' and 15'' with 8600 512mb gpu
-
I think the 7600 Go for the best balance between power consumption/heat and graphical capabilities.
Best GPU in a 15.4"?
