Hello guys,
I wanted to share with you one of my recent discoveries -- an awesome game that has gone largely unnoticed by the gaming community despite its sheer awesomeness.
The game is "Psychonauts" -- a puzzly jump-and-run platform game made by the same genius creators that brought us "Day of the Tentacle" and other older LucasArts hits. It was Best Game Nobody Played for Gamespot when it came out.
Despite its age (over 2 years as of this writing) the game has to be one of the most amazing titles I've played in years. The wit and humor of its creators is evident in everything from the character design, the voice acting and the quirky surreal graphics.

So, go grab it off Steam and thank me later!![]()

I played the demo a while ago, but it is not my kind of game. However, I have heard great opinions about it, and awesome parodies on todays world it has.
-
weird little game
-
It's got great characters and writing. I bought it for my daughter last year and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She recommended playing it with a gamepad controller.
-
Beyond Good and Evil was also another games that was awesome but nearly nobody bought...

There's no doubt the writing for this game is great but I still hold Grim Fandango to be greater than Psychonauts. Both were created by Tim Schafer. He's one of the few figures in my pantheon of "gaming's greatest minds". -
Just about every game reviewing site online gave this game good scores, but since it's not everyone's cup of tea the game sold abysmally.

One of the best platformers out there... It was one of the little gems for the Xbox and is available for about $10 or so on the 360 through live.
But yeah, it had some of the best level designs I have ever seen in any game. Period.
To me, it felt like a game that Jhonen Vasquez could have made. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah the game was free to play on gametap this past winter.
If anyone noticed his voice is the voice of DAG from 2 angry beavers!!!
Fun whacky game, if you still love good ole platformers. -
I bought the game a while back because it got rave reviews. I didn't care for it, mainly because the awkward controls, but I do know quite a few people that really enjoyed it. I just don't care to have to hook up a gamepad for a game that should play fine with keyboard/mouse.

Best. Game. Ever. Period.
Beyond Good & Evil. -
Plays much better with a gamepad, and you have to cut the studio some slack, it's the 1st non-adventure game they (Tim Schaeffer) developed.
Highly Recommended. -
I tried the game when it first came out on the Xbox and I just couldn't get into it. I didn't even find the game all that funny but it did get great reviews.
The one game I thought was absolutely hilarious that he also did was Grim Fandango. That game to this day is still funny and brilliant. -
You know, Psychonauts actually won awards from several video game publications called the same thing as this thread.
