    Nope, it's just non-ingame CGI, with a monotonous background "music". Blizzard makes tonnes of those.

    Best trailer needs great music and INGAME GAMEPLAY / GRAPHICS, tied together with perfect timing, to convey the strength of the actual game. For example, the new Skyrim trailer.

    When I read the title of this thread I wanted to say the FFXIII trailer (with leona lewis), but once I saw the dead island trailer I can agree the latter is a clear winner :p

    Almost sold (need in-game footage)...but damn that trailer was sad! Then again I'm kinda tired of zombies, however if they make a revolutionary game, then that changes everything.

    on a supposed trip of a lifetime, a father defends his family and has to kill his own daughter in the end.

    Yeah but the gist of the actual game utterly trashes the trailer's intended feeling, thus making it an unrelated and ineffective trailer (both emotionally and in terms of characters).

    The trailer makes you feel that the game will be very moody, atmospheric, emotion-charged, story-driven, heart-wrenching. Instead it's a lame beat-em-up.

    Oldest trick in the book. Show dead kid = emotional. Considering the zombies, it was far from tear jerker for me.

    I disagree. It wasmthe way it was presented that adds depth and tragedy. It wasnt really about the dead kid but the way the dad tried to save her. That to me is emotional.

    The interesting part is, after the kid zombie fell and hit the ground and truly died, you can immediately see her face return to normal (the green/black corruption around her neck, eyes, and cheeks return to pink flesh).

    The last game I remember, where kids could be killed was Fallout 1. Of course , if you did, the town would hunt you down, like the dog that you are !

    yep. well said. plus good marketing is easier than good game creation. good ad... it disturbed my wife... but i doubt i will get the game unless it gets good user reviews and shows up at the steam christmas sale.
