I'm in the mood for some Half-Life 2 again. What's the best graphics mod or mods in general for HL2?

The Fakefactory Cinematic Mod is the best texture mod for HL 2, one of the best I've ever seen for any game in fact. Quite large (12gb+ if I remember correctly) but worth the hard drive space and the longer loading times. The Alyx texture up close is just... unreal :D

Never saw that, looks great! I love a game with a solid story over action once in a while... I still remember how much I enjoyed "To the moon" and there wasn't one fighting scene in that game... except a mock-up one for laughs :) +1

Nice speeds, nice to hear it's still popular among the netz.

That Dear Esther looks nice. Except at the moment interested more in HL2 than a new adventure. ;) But thanks for that!

I didn't like it. It changed my game so much that HL2 turned into crap... Guess I had to configure it to be more like vanilla just with better textures.

I found SMOD to be a nice way to spruce up the singleplayer a little.

Am I the only one who thought that "Dear esther" was absolutely horrible? Why not just watch a movie instead? A good one...
