Which one of these 3 shooter games have the best graphics - - all three are similar, so I was thinking of getting the one that looks the best. If there are any other shooter games with very good graphics which I don't know about, please mention them.
-
I think it's a matter of opinion rather than a fact or winner by benchmark.
I think first it's better to wait for each to become officially released to pass judgment but if you're asking opinions, I think crysis wins slimly over call of duty although I enjoyed call of duty more. -
COD 4 wins, its coming out soon and it is actually possible to play it smoothly with all settings on high and at a decent resolution, unlike what i have heard about crysis. But if u can manage to run Crysis in dx10 high settings, Crysis will be better looking than COD4, but I don't think many people will be able to do this.
-
Call of Duty 4 is already out.
I have (by Nov 12th actually) an XPS m1730 too - it can't handle Crysis at Max settings? That's kinda gay.
Anyone news on Soldier of Fortune 3? -
-
Hmm I would say that Crysis doesn´t look so awesome like I thought at first. The indoor scenes is nothing to talk about.
Also they are enitrely different, Crysis is on an island meanwhile Cod4 is city fighting usually. Still Cod 4 is much better optimized than crysis and do indeed look nearly as good as Crysis in my opinion, not to talk about more fun too. -

Simply best graphics? I have to say crysis.
But thats not the one that runs the best and to have a system to play it maxed out means your on a leading edge desktop. -
Expect crysis to be played at 1024 at high settings for most.. mid/highend computers do alright at 1024 all on medium. But i think if you want to go higher than 1024 you need SLI 8800 of some sort.
My old duo2 core 2,0ghz with 2gb ram and a 512mb 7600m gfxcard, runs crysis at 1024 with all on lowlooks like crap! but it runs.

ut 3 ...

CoD 4 demo was quite impressive compared with Crysis. Haven't seen much of SoF 3 yet. I'm looking forward to CoD 4. And no, it is not out yet dna2008 - at least not in the States. Due out November 5.
-
Well the Crysis demo is ridiculously demanding and seems unoptimized at it´s current state. My 8800GTX struggles with it. Hopefully the retail game will run better and even better with new drivers and patches.

Of these, I opt for Crysis. However, it's worth pointing out that, much like Far Cry, of course the game's graphics are going to be received as "beautiful", "pretty" and other such heart felt drivel when it's set in a paradise island, imitating nature at its ideal best, complete with sandy beaches, exotic trees, colourful wildlife and clear waters!
It will be interesting to see how well, if at all, the game shines in alternative, darker environments.
I've been playing Clive Barker's Jericho and that really looks the business. -
COD 4 for sure
-
Crysis without question, assuming you have a rig that can fully support it. I've played Cod4 on max everything on my rig, then Crysis on mostly maxed settings except shadows and shaders and the difference is ASTOUNDING. COD doesn't even come close I can assure you. Crysis wins hands down.

I will answer this with a picture. Which one of those is Crysis and other one is Real?
Yeah, Crysis is that realistic made.
Crytek Engine brings "Hollywood-style" photo-realistic cinematic computing to PC gamers.
With a good system, you can play the game like watching a Hollywood movie.
This is next gen gaming.
Crysis is a Class Above the Rest.
Other games compared to it, are just gamesAttached Files:

This is the beginning of whole thing, i believe.
-Final full version of Crysis is good/bad
-Will keep people interested still, after finishing the game, with multiplayer?
-Scenario of the game
-Etc.
But,
I still think Crysis will be a phenomenon for a long time, but as always time will tell. -
best graphics i would have to say crysis obviously because of the physics and all. but then again if you prefer more realistic war games i would say COD4. soldier of fortune 3... we shall see :x
-
stuff graphics. gameplay is where its at.
and the day i can't tell the difference between a computer game and real life is the day i give up gaming. -
Crysis is by FAR ALOT better looking than ANY game I've ever played.
COD 4 is really fun, but doesn't even come close to the visuals of Crysis.
Oh and btw, COD 4 DOES NOT run better than CRYSIS. COD 4 was in small spaces, it's extremely linear, and renders probebly 1/300th of the amount that crysis renders per frame. SOF 3 is just a joke... why even put that in there? -
CoD4 is definitely looking great. Not to mention, demo only had normal textures which means full game will have better graphics.
-
I concur with Jeff, Crysis is a FPS at heart and I see nothing in previews to indicate that it's anything but bar the eyecandy that has everyone drooling over their keyboards. When the day arrives where I can't distinguish between games and real life is the day I need better glasses and make plans for the afterlife. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Yup, I agree. I played the demo maybe 3 times before I was bored. I used mainly to benchmark the 8600 and dx10 effects. It wasn't anything revolutionary in terms of gameplay. I actually played the cod4 demo more. The A.I. at least makes the game more interesting there. They move for cover, flank, and execute more strategic strategies. Crysis wasn't even hard under the most difficult setting.
In cod4 its awesome when you shoot someone and they aren't dead yet and he tries to reach for his gun but when he sees you coming close he just takes out a grenade and BOOM! Pretty cool. -
Yea Crysis was really boring for me, it was so easy to abuse cloak and run away. I played it once and uninstalled.
I played the CoD4 demo at least five or six times. -
I'll agree with...
Unreal Tournament 3
(Unreal Engine 3)
... for both engine and it being heavily optimized for a large range of systems... that can even date back to ATI 9600.
It looks and plays very well... as well as smooth with so much engine/game customizations as compared to other "next-gen" shooters that focus on the "haves" than the "have nots" (which I, and many others, fall into) in terms of having latest and greatest stuff.
Note: Unreal Engine 3 is implemented into some already well-known titles: Bioshock, Gears of War, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, etc....
Crysis does look nice (from the Beta to the official Demo)... but I do not feel the "love"... from Crytek to its customers (most of which have to sport a current high-end system to experience the supposed "amazing graphics".
"MAXIMUM GAY"
.... for those that cant even play it or cannot experience the "amazing graphics" needing to play it on low-medium at DX9.
(a reference for those that have played the Beta and/or Demo) -
Hehe, guys just think about 10-15 years before. You were probably playing a 8 bit Atari game on a lousy console.
And what 'Exactly' makes you think that is not achievable?
And please do some research before posting some non-contributing posts to a productive thread.just kiddin'
These techs are from Cinema Industry which are implemented in the game.
-Area Deepness
-Motion Blur
-Soft Shadows
Photo Realistic Render Processing
-Subsurface Scattering
-Parallax Mapping
More realistic environment with 'high dymanic range lighting'
From a Source -
Bioshock ftw
-
TF2 has best graphics.
-
I'm sure your source is reliable enough but some of the best games I've played had graphics that would make gamers younger than 15 wonder what the fuss was about, I couldn't care if all of the features you've stated are so great when they make the majority of computers look like a slideshow.
Of course if you still insist on calling my post and others as "unproductive" you're entitled to do so, it won't make any difference to this thread. -
crysis have some interesting game play features like the ability to chuck people and cloak. but the graphics really arnt anything special...
I only had it on high though, not 'very high'.
will try COD4 later -
The CoD4 demo looked really boxy when I played it. It was probably the intended architecture of the buildings but it looked almost half-life 2 when you looked past some of the bells & whistles.
There's absolutely no question that Crysis has superior graphics, it just depends on if you can run it. If you can, and you care about graphics, Crysis will have most realistic graphics of any game on any platform out.
Gameplay, well that's just just subjective. Some would say EQ or DAoC had vastly superior gameplay to WoW for what they wanted. And yet WoW is a cash monster.
Gameplay was not the question posed by the OP, though . Title of thread is "Best Graphics on which Shooter Game". Answer, inarguably, Crysis. -
Well said. A beast is really needed to truly experience the graphic experience that Crysis can bring.
-
crysis looks the best so far. Cod4 has fun gameplay, but they just use the same formula. UT3 was the most fun demo i've played (no joke). I don't think enough people have tried playing it.
-
It seems like alot of you haven't run cysis at very high settings, which can only be done in DX10 mode. there's a massive difference between high and very high settings, which most of you haven't run.
Best Graphics on which Shooter Game? Call of Duty 4, Crysis or Soldier of Fortune 3?
