I could only fit in the really big ones. If I've omitted any please post up about them!
My vote goes to Ultima Online. I played it every day for three years and it didn't get boring. It was by far the best, you could become rich without killing a single thing. The only real alternative life online.
That said, I'm loving World of Warcraft. City of Heroes also has a special place for me.

COH is my favorite.
-
I only played Guild Wars in the past 1.5 years. Guess that's my fav by default.
-
I loved the first Guild Wars (never beat it but played days on end). Mostly I just liked causing chaos by saying bad things ;-)
-
I don't play MMORPG games, but many friend around are crazy about WoW,so...

Which ones have you played?
I have played:
Anarchy Online, City of Heroes, Eve Online, Everquest 2, Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online and World of Warcraft. -
I haven't given in to WoW yet...><;
-
My vote goes to World of Warcraft.
I played it for over a year non stop and didn't get bored of it... I forced myself to quit. -
I'm not sure it's the best, but my friend got me into CoH/CoV over the summer... it's good mindless entertainment. I can multitask while I play, which is perfect for my attention span. I think it needs to improve on what you can do once you reach 50 though...
-
The Land of Drogon...you want classic, you got it!

It'd be neat to see some people voting for Eve. That game's really cool. S'not your typical MMO though.
FFXI is my favorite. If I had more free time and fewer interests I'd play it a lot. -
I've been playing WoW recently and im hooked hah...it deserves my vote IMO. Second would have to go to EQ 1. That game was slammin back in the day.
-
MapleStory
I will never vote for WoW, unless Starcraft 2 is in production. -
Your wish has been granted, even though I only played it for two weeks, it was wicked sick! -
WoW is my favorite by far. Then again, I've only played EQ2 (briefly) and Guild Wars. I was HIGHLY disapointed in GW becuase there is no real PVE. I didn't realize I was buying a PVP only game, so that was a waste of $50.
I'm looking toward Vanguard, and that could be on your list because it was in fairly open beta for a while. I've never tried FF XI, but from watching people play, it didn't look that great. Same with SW:galaxies. But again, I can't pass judgement or compre those since I've never actually played those.
I'm really looking forward to the Warhammer online mmo. -
Don't have a heart attack, but.... I don't play RPG games... I usually only play FPS games.
Matt -
I love FPS's too, Mtruco, the only reason I actually play a MMORPG is I can play it while I chat, watch tv, whatever... doesn't require full focus. When I have the time to sit down and concentrate, I LOVE a good FPS.
-
I used to play Ragnarok, It was one of the funnest MMORPG's because it actually took some skill to play it. I haven't played games since I stopped that one. Alot of my friends play WoW though so my vote goes to it.
-
bit of a silly question IMO since the answer will be WOW obviously. I voted GW just to be different
-
Hmm, tricky one. Eve, I'd say. For daring to be different, for actually innovating, and for not requiring you to spend 25 hours a day.
Oh, and for allowing you to progress by doing more than just killing. (Hell, allowing you to make a living simply as a trader is pretty unusual too)
I once played Anarchy Online for close to two years, so that game has a place in my heart too... -
lol go RO, played it for awhile, it was fun while it lasted. MS was ok a bit simple but it was alright.

So how many of you guys actually played Ultima Online? If you think WoW is good well, it's basically UO with more races to choose from and 3d graphics.
In UO you didn't have to kill anything, not even as a newb. You could become a tailor or a blacksmith and make your living that way. You could choose from a huge list of skills having any combinations you want.
WoW is the best current MMORPG but it doesn't have the flexibility of UO. In UO you could really have an online life completely seperate from your own. It wasn't 1337, not all played by 13 year olds and IMO was the last bastion of mutual respect and friendship in the online gaming world.
WoW comes close, but not close enough. -
I don't "MOARPUG" (MMORPG). I'm just too lazy for that. In fact, despite my system specs, gaming is not that heavily done (I just don't have the time, teehee)
-
Jess, I see you got sucked into WoW
After seing my friends spend most of their lives on WoW, i swore that i would never give in to the dark forces -
I havn't played many MMOs, but I know from what I've read that oldschool UO before it was taken over by EA was the best MMO ever.
-
-
I have never played a MMORPG game, but I voted for the Star Wars one, cause I am just that much of a SW fan. Oh well.
-
everquest 1 was really addictive
-

Well WoW is pretty addictive but I think I am keeping it secondary to my most important parts of life, my partner, my degree, my mates. If I think it's taking over I will have to stop.
-
Recently quit playing WoW, played it for about 3 weeks. One hellava fun game. But ultimately, it was a little too good.
-
And man, do I love to play twinked characters! -
i dont like wow anymore, my crack errr game is vanguard and CSS

I played Everquest for a year, but had to stop after starting college because the campus lan was slower than dial-up. I played EQ2 for a single year also, but feel that despite all the wonderful graphics enhancements..they ruined it. There's no real challenge to EQ2. They evened the game play and advancement way too much and made it boring. I really craved the risk and reward original EQ had. tisk tisk EQ gets my vote
-
Wow is definitely my favorite! Not cutting edge graphics but the fun level and community is awesome.
It also runs on LOTS of pc's that don't have great hardware. -

Hate to say it, but I voted WoW. Played for about a year. Currently in beta with LOTRO.
My history in cronological order; Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online, Star Wars Galaxies, City of Heroes, World of Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons Online and finally Lord of the Rings Online. Think I will try Vanguard once beta is over with LOTRO. -
WoW all the way, ive been off and on WoW since day 1 and it always brings good fun. Sure it gets boring here and there but in the end its still a really great game, that can run on even my worest systems.
-
I'll have to say Guild Wars... I tried WoW and it didn't really stand out (to me) from all the other 'free' Korean MMORPGs
-
but where´s Lineage II ?
-
I vote FFXI
-
Runescape
once you get the 7 combat 99's its gravy! -
I'm not going to vote, not cuz i don't want to but cuz i cant decide, personally i luv CoH/CoV but also WoW, I canceled my subscription to CoH/CoV though not cuz i didnt like it, but it seemed too few ppl played it, I like playing games in teams and dont like when its hard to find a team. WoW has plenty of ppl playing it so its easier to find a team but at the same time, harder. CoH/CoV had an awesome global chat system released in an early patch and it was so awesome and easy to find teams, Wow isnt as easy. I still have a subscription to WoW, but havent played it recently, though I might again once I reinstall it and download all its updates. My computer crashed about a week ago and had to start from scratch, Though i wasnt really even playing WoW then. I know it's not really an MMORPG, (it just seemed like one) I gotta say Phantasy Star Online for the Sega Dreamcast was one of the best RPGs online ever made if not the best, WoW and CoH/CoV are on par.

Results of this poll are... not surprising?
-
World of Warcraft Imo, Warhammer online when it comes out
-
uhh were is dark age of camelot?! this game at its prime was better than anything ever out thus far. ive played WoW, EQ, Asherons, GW, and a few others. DAoC gets my vote hands down. i still play the freeshards, no lvling no farming just the best stuff so you can go out n do the fun stuff

I've heard that the Age of Conan MMORPG game will be very different and refreshing.
-
-
I wish the WarHammer Online was going to be set in the 40k universe. I havent played WoW but it seems to me that it is the best one out there.
-
I've played Asheron's call, WoW, GW, RYL, Runescape, Tibia, and by far the best was Asheron's call dark majesty. I spent a good 2-3 years on that game from 2000-2003, and there is just so much content its amazing. But WoW filled the void once i decided to quit, and since I quit wow I've been searching for a new mmo...i think I'll have to wait for Warhammer!
Best MMORPG!
